My PC:

amd phenom ii x6 1100t be clocked to 4.01GHz
asus crosshair v formula
8GB Corsair DDR3 1333 RAM
Coolermaster 650W PSU

Windows 7 x64
Tried all the latest ati drivers 11.12 and 12.1 preview drivers.

Gigabyte HD6850
Club 3D HD6850 OC edition

Both cards have the same clock speed and memory clock.

If I put Battlefield 3 on ultra I get a mere 28-38 FPS which seems to be a bit weak since people on youtube playing with 60+ FPS with a 6850 crossfire setup and they have the cards on stock clocks.

I overclock my cards to 900 each and then only I'm lucky to maybe get 35 FPs otherwise I get like in the 20 or sometimes even 18 FPS.

Now this just sound wrong considering that a single 6850 can do better than that.

I have checked basically everything.

Tried drivers. Tried switching the cards. Both cards are installed into a x16 bus and but run on x16 bus speed acording to GPU-z. Crossfire is enabled and tested and working.

So is it battlefield 3 that is the problem or what cause that is why I got another 6850 is to run battlefield with better graphics.

I'm always running all my games at 1080p

I'm so dissapointed that the new 6850 that I paid R2000 for I just want to sell. Any 1 mind giving some advice.... Thanks

My BF3 framerate is also rather shocking with my GTX460's in SLI. I've got an i7 940 @ 3.8GHz + 6GB DDR3 1333MHz CL8, with NVidia drivers v285.62.
I currently have to play on 1920x1200 on medium settings.

In BF:BC2, I was able to play it at 2560x1600 with everything on high, except for the AA settings.

I would also love to know if there's something that I'm doing wrong, or if it is just BF3 that is so demanding that not even 2x GTX460's in SLI can get 60fps on 1920x1200...
I haven't tried to run BF3 without SLI to see if my framerate is the same or not.

So I have my crossfire set up right.

So I ran guiminer which is a bitcoin mining program. I was able to run but GPU's at maximum with both cards maximized so I think my crossfire is righ I just don't know if its drivers that is a problem or battlefield 3 that doesn't like me.

So I see you have the same problem with nvidia so I'm guessing BF3 is so demanding or it doesn't like multi GPU in which case looks like I need to get a loan to pay for a upgrade cause that is how expensive its going to be.

Yay happy now. Seems to be working. last night in frustration I pulled the 2 6850's out and installed a 9800gt just go back in time..... So today I just installed them again and installed the latest drivers and a my 2 HD6850 on stock clocks can handle Battlefield 3 on high setting with FPS not dipping below 55. So I'm going to overclock them a bit to see what happens.

Ok I'm running 11.12 drivers with the Profiles installed and WTF change.............. 6850 crossfire I now Run Battlefield 3 on Ultra with AA off though but still running ultra with 60+ FPS.

Wow I can't believe it. Yeah.... :)

Nicely done.

Then it seems like I just have to reinstall my NVIDIA drivers - or at least I hope that it would do the trick.

EISH!
I had SLI disabled for some reason, which I only saw (GPU 2 usage max = 0%) when I used MSI Afterburner to overclock my GPU's.

Once I enabled SLI, I got like 70fps+ on 2560x1600 on ULTRA settings, except for AA/AF things.

Ohh my.... Yes that is a good outcome atleast.

You should try

GPU-Z

http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Awesome app. Gives all these info for example if sli or crossfire is possible but not enable it tells you this kinda stuff. Decent app.
