Tried this out last night, essentially allows you to run any Windows games off your mac.

In fact you can apparently also run any Windows apps using Crossover.

Got steam installed no problem and then installed Call of Duty black ops.

Couldn't get black ops to work, It loads up fine but gave me issues when changing the res and then when trying to get into a game it crashed.

But I suspect that the .net framework wasn't installed so will try again tonight. Kinda flying blind a bit.

Anyone had any experience with this Crossover?

Pretty surprised no one has replied on this.

Obviously not very popular :p

Emulation / Virtulization technology doesn't seem like the cleverest idea for gaming.

Its awesome that I can now get natives mac games via steam now. For the rest I've given up and use a console.

Sacrifices.

I'd be interested to know what the performance is like compared to Parallels.

I haven't tried it yet, but there's also WineBottler to run Windows games.

Fair enough, but if you can get all your windows games running on your mac, then hey why not :)

I tried again briefly last night and gave up, think I am missing something. There is something I think I need to install.

But I got steam installed and Black ops installed. Can run the game just hangs on the load screen when joining a game.

Give it a try, its a free 14 day trial.

Crossover/Cedega is essentially WINE which is free.
My experience has led me to just keep a XP partition for gaming. The older/simpler stuff works fine but there are always issues.
