I'm thinking of going on a cruise ship with a friend but I'm not sure where to start.

I'm for looking for deals and recommendations. Also what month is the best time to go on one; where the weather is fine and so are the prices.

Anything else I'll need to know?

Are you looking to do a local cruise from Durban or Cape Town, or are you looking at an international one?

We did the one from Durban to Mozambique a while back, booked directly with MSC, they had the best prices. http://www.msccruises.co.za/za_en/MSC/CruiseCalendar.aspx If you do decide to go to Mozambique, avoid the January - March departures, as it is the rainy season then. December will be furking hot though.

I suggest not starting with MyBB. These guys are all sitting in server rooms and dingy flats. They have no idea of oceans and holidays and stuff. :D

I was thinking of the Durban to Mozambique one as well, but really anything that would likely go out of the shores of SA.

I can recommend it, was a very nice experience. Only issue I had was the return voyage, you spend a whole day on the water, so I got a little bored. But there is lots of activities on the ship and if you are with a good mate, you can always booze it up!
