So just over a year ago the issuer that produced most crypto backed debit cards (WaveCrest) pulled the plug and a whole bunch of offerings disappeared over night.

Nowadays some companies are issuing their own cards or have made other arrangements and crypto backed cards are still a thing e.g.

Question I have is which (if any) crypto backed payment card is available to South Africans? Played around with wirex recently, went the whole hog with account verification only to find out they won't issue their cards outside of the European economic area, ditto for Revolut which isn't crypto as such, but they don't allow you to fund your account with a South African card hence you can't create a Revolut card which requires funds in your account.

You can try crypto.com.

Not exactly a crypto card, in the sense that it is merely a prepaid card that would need to be topped up with fiat in order to use but you spend crypto to do the topup. Not directly linked to any crypto wallet.
