Cryptocurrencies fall after Bithumb exchange hack

Cryptocurrencies dropped after the second South Korean exchange in as many weeks said it was the victim of a theft, renewing concerns about the safety of digital-asset trading venues.

Bithumb, ranked No. 7 globally by traded value on Coinmarketcap.com, said on Wednesday that hackers stole about 35 billion won ($32 million) and that Ripple was among the coins taken.

When are people going to learn not to keep their coins on the exchange?
Difficult to do if you're actively trading. Hopefully decentralised exchanges gain more traction in the coming months which will at least let traders retain ownership of their crypto and private keys when trading.
