Hi guys

I am a relatively amateur first person shooter gamer (mouthfull)

I have played a bit of Crysis online and thank you for the servers in SA guys.

One request. Could you rename one of those servers to "newby" or something and only allow level 1-10 guys on that?

Yesterday evening I was slaughtered when I joined a game. Got killed 10 times and killed only once.

Seriously, give us new guys a chance to enjoy and develop. Do this and you will have more servers/gamers soon which will mean more fun!

Thx

Sup Garfield...

Unfortunately that is the nature of online gaming... If you don't get in early you are going to be raped for a while, but it gets better hang in there... :)

Crysis 2 online is hell of a difficult - even as a "seasoned" online gamer I must admit that the game is pretty tricky to master online. I suspect hax, but without proof you just sound like a whiner - so I rather just don't play it at all....

Done.

Just kidding I have no idea who could do this for you. Perhaps contact WAGE, iGaming or mweb directly. I know a lot of guys will use this server to level up quickly so you might still get pwned.

I'm not sure that would be the best route to take but you could try contact this guy from iGame.

It was the same thing when I started. If you stick at it you eventually find 'signs' a muzzle flash there a movement to the corner of your eyes, you eventually become acclimatised.

crysis is not the best game to get started on as far as fps games go, if you are used to COD and try COD tactics/gamestyles you are also likely to fail..... it takes more skill than games like COD, i doubt it is hax that is tripping you guys up, your opponents are probably just managing their energy better.... thats what crysis 2 is all about, bad energy management and random rushing = death.

Agree with Fader4, its not easy.
Key to it is to mostly run with nothing engaged, as you see an enemy switch to armor, if you have too much energy switch to cloak till your energy is about half way then switch it off till its full then cloak again.

My absolute worst habit which is carry over from black ops is to jump when someone surprises me, thus draining my energy and my armor and dying.

OK I see. I just thought they could name one server and even if 30% of the *******s are dishonest, atleast it is better than playing against level 155 jaggernauts!!

Yeah Garfield, I also started playing online recently. Uhm the only thing I can suggest, is I saw that servers can be "Ranked" and "unranked", the pros normally play on "Ranked" as they can level up on that. So "Unranked" matches are your friend, not always, but mostly.

i try to keep mobile so no attachments, especially for my feline class/rushing. i also move with nothing engaged then engage cloak when i know its a high traffic/exposed/middle of map area.... usually i fire with no armor and engage armor when i retreat/reload/relocate, this has cut my deaths down as i used to engage armor when i engaged an enemy then ended up with no energy and dead after i took him out as there is usually a cloaked player luring about watching the radar..... i reckon my worst habit (also a cod one) is probably crouching when surprised or trying to melee... i am used to just rushing and knifing in cod when i cant use my gun or dropshotting people when surprised.

My two cents would be to finish playing the first person game, but not on easy. As a newby your finger got to get use to mashing up the keys quick unuff, its not a thought pattern but more of a reflex action when playing most multilayer games and getting 1st and 2st position spots.

Shoot ... I have not even tried MP yet, and u guys reckon they haxing it?!? wtf ... eish. Anyone finished SP ? I find the game to be far less realistic tho than the first one, I enjoyed the open expanse of Crysis 1. This seems to be more "First Person Shooter" generic.... But graphics are good, and gameplay is smooth!

Personally I would not say there are hax, but what is rely strange is that i can play on a german server with a ping of 300 and still come 1st - 3th spot. If it was COD I would be getting pwned, not to mention the lag.

Its so easy to hack its not even funny.

Within 15 minutes of looking I had a SCAR with faster fire rates, higher damage, less recoil and spread. (Retail version 1.1) And thats just a bit of XML editing...

I am still waiting to see what Crytek's fix is going to be for this. I find it extremely funny that they want apply patches afterwards instead of designing the game with hacking in mind from the start. I mean, simple example, damage is not something you calculate client side and send to the server. Never.

Before I get the "Hacker!" flaming... I ran IS' Crysis Wars servers for the last two years which I used to create a server side anti-cheat DLL that is now used on 150+ Wars servers worldwide. Last year October it was used in a Crytek sponsored ESL tournie as well. So ja, its something that interests me.

Hacker! lol. There is a supposed patch today which fixes the hacking issues.

Not trying to second guess you ConeN, but as they save what your power up and gun as your profile on there servers, so if you logged in from someone else computer with your profile, you would have your setting ready. wouldn't the xml your talking about only changing your personal on screen result of gun fire and not the in-game what the multiplayer server would calculate? this is rely a interesting topic...derail :)
