CS GO servers & players?

How many local servers are there and how active are they? How many gun games servers are there?

Does buying upgrades etc influence your game, ie can someone that does not invest in the marketplace still play a nice game or not?

I'm specifically interested in gun game where you just join to shoot the schit out of others and not so much team play. Thinking of pulling the trigger but not sure if I should.

Don't think there are any more GG CCS servers around any more either.

There should still be quite abit of mweb gmz servers
 
Re local servers: Most people play via 'find a game' nowadays instead of the classic "browse games" of old which would have included the GG and mweb servers. Because of the shift from the "browse games" system to the new "find a game" system, the custom local hosted CSS servers are definitely used less often but you'll still find plenty of games using the new system. You can 'find a game' for arms race mode, which is effectively the now official version of the gun game. I just did this and it took me under 30 seconds.

Re buying upgrades: This makes zero difference. They're all just weapon skins with no gameplay effects.

No pay to win (Skins are purely for e-peen)
Loads of SA servers, always full
Not much a team game unless you play comps. Casuals are just a shoot fest :D

Misunderstanding here. To clarify: I used to game as FuLL_MeT4L, but never full metal ape, a separate player who I have encountered before. Changed my nick, but I'm sure he still plays by that name :)
 
Worst community ever. It's even below DoTa. I played this piece of crap game for like 5 months straight.

Endless amounts of kids.
Trash talking when you LEGIT kill someone. "Oh you hacker you hacker!"
THE most boring events ever. ( Halloween they made the chickens turn into zombies. Wow. Thx ).

Rather use the cash to feed a black kid for a day or buy airtime for your ex girlfriend.

Playing that game actually makes you dummerer.

As much as I agree that the casual community can be pretty daft and stupid with rude comments all the time. Normally it's only one or two players and they can be muted nor problem and you get on with your game. Ponder, once you have the game add me. We'll let you play with our group and you get a feel for the game the way it's meant to be played. Will play casual with you for about 2 or 3 days till you have rank 3 so you can comp. Then your world will change :p PM me.

Haha, that was the yolo match, nobody played strats or anything and there was some nitpicking between three guys in the beginning. The next match was way worse. This is one dislike that I have about CS:GO. Lesson one, get regulars to comp with you.
