Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I need help.

So Im on Supersonic Fiber, everything is running smoothyl on speedtests I get 5ms ping with 25Mbps down and up stable. All games are working fine with low ping except for CSGO.

When I try play CS my ping is around 170ms and it is unplayable. I phoned and asked them to help they cant without knowing the SA server IP which I cant find, the onces I find are apparently in USA.

Im out of ideas. Any Help?

I have I get;

status
Connected to =[A:1:3097237508:14063]:0

Keep the console open and as soon as you see the accept button, there should be information containing a primary server which you'll connect to (likely 'jhb') and a failover server, otherwise once you connect to the game, 'status' should give you the ip of the server as well.

Had the same last night, likely a routing issue.

I m on supersonic. I have the same problem. It was working fine in CsGo then all of a sudden my ping is 180ms until now. I called supersonic asked for their assistance. Reply i got was from the result of traceroute there is nothing wrong on their side. So cant fix. I sent the cancellation to supersonic and now looking for different isp.

Same issue on Dota with Seacom. My ping was always 1 then suddenly last week it shot up to 300+. Came back down to 170 and been staying there. Turns out it is Seacom and Supersonic (MTN) deciding to not peer with other ISPs(? Dunno. I don't understand it fully but I know it is a bad, outdated practice). Switch to a Vodacom connection and boom, it is fine again. Friends on MTN fixed-LTE also have the same issue. Problem is, switching to Vodacom is not feasible as mobile data is expensive and one Dota game easily uses 60MB per game. Play 3 games a night and I use close to 200MB a day. Need to find a new fibre ISP.

You and I probably experiencing same issue. But CSGO server is jhb local, how is seacom breakdown affect this?

From my understanding it is their peering policies that are causing the problem. Don't think it is the cable as we are connecting to local servers.

Im also by them, they have even replaced my router, Put in a new fiber line. nothing works, but i do have a solution for you that worked for me, use a VPN. i used windscribe, paying 2$ a month, just select Custom package and select South Africa, So im using a S.A VPN server, My ping dropped back to normal which is 10 - 5ms.

Nah. I am just going to move to a new ISP.

Not gonna copy and paste email from Seacom on this thread too, but they finally admitted there is a problem and they are working on fixing it. Let's see what happens.

Apparently been fixed, at least for Seacom clients:

Good morning

We have received confirmation from Valve that routing has been restored.

Please test your end and advise soonest?
