CSGO Sticky thread

Issue is, how long does that report take to get reviewed? By the time it is reviewed, he/she would be on to another account, already ruining the game for someone else again.
He has to get to a higher account level before he can get Prime. Something like level 21.

If you activate Prime you greatly increase the effort needed by the boosting hacker.

True, but often it takes >10 minutes to find prime matches on the lower ranks. When I was Silver I literally had to wait 10 - 20 minutes for a match to come up.

How does boosting work? Do you have to get higher ranked mates to let you kill them / win comps against them? To what end?

Edit: oh Prime...my bad.

what's prime?

It's a thing you activate on your account that matches you up with other Prime members...it's in beta and free at the moment.

Helps filter out people who only play to get on others' nerves (hackers, smurfs etc.).

At MGE it takes about 1-2 minutes.0.

Pairs your csgo account with your phone number. You can only pair one csgo account to each phone number. Your account has to be level 21 to activate Prime. If you use the Prime function it pairs you only with other people using Prime. It helps reduce smurfs and hackers in your games because it is effort to get the account to level 21.

Also I don't think it is in beta any longer. I could be wrong though.

You lobby up with higher ranked people. You then get matched against people of higher ranks on average. When your friend stomps the crap out of that game, even though you went 0 kills 16 deaths you still rank up because the people you "won" against are higher ranked relative to you.

elo (the number you don't get to see that determines your rank and is used for rank up vs rank down calculations in code) is influenced by the difference between the elos of the various players in the game. So you rank up faster if you're winning consistently against people of higher rank. Similarly you derank faster if you're losing against people of significantly lower rank.

Maybe we should create a MyBB group? Should make it easier to find each other.

One of you okes will have to set it up. I'm probably never going to maintain it :p

Fulcrum it is. All in favour?

1/1.

That's 100% agreement.

Fulcrum it is!

So I have thermal paste!

This is how it looks right now. Lots of paste, not much on the actual contact pad.

So, dot or smear?

I did a think line down the middle of the pad.

It now idles at 50-60 and went to 80 while playing CS:GO - better than the 100 it got to last time.

Still not sure what the issue us actually, the fan does spin though Toshiba disable any fan control. Can't even see what RPM it's spinning at and can't force a speed.

Hmm interesting video and actually explains something. Was playing last night with your_mom (Steam name, not a troll) and was being killed through smoke, doors etc. Obvious cheating.

Then in a later game, we were being absolutely nailed. One guy (Purchase) was headshot killing everyone with a shotgun, often from range, and various other things.

It just gets to the point where there is no fun left because you don't stand a chance. Throw smoke and incendiary and then get killed by a headshot as you Shift-walk around the corner? Meh, dial me out at that point.
