CSGO Sticky thread

Performance-wise? Any improvements? Also, what issues?

In other games, notable improvements but not in CS GO...I can see my i5-6600K is bottlenecking the GPU a little in CS GO even when clocked to 4.4Ghz. CPU is working at 90%-95% while the GPU is down in the 60%-70% usage range.

The software that comes with overrode my preferences when I installed it...I fixed that. Then a a new driver was released which overrode my settings again. Nvidia says it's best to run CS GO at 1440p with downsampling to get to 1080p (same as Ponder suggested) - I like 1080p.

Hmm interesting.

Well either way, congrats bru, that's awesome. Was that the guy I suggested?

@Neoprod

This reminds me of when we play over weekends,

About a week ago...1070. Prefer AMD from a software point of view in retrospect...Nvidia's got a couple of issues that get on my nerves.

Upgraded from RX 580 to GTX 1070 and I agree, the AMD software is much nice than NVIDIA's GeForce Experience.

there's definitely something up...the new guy rogue managed to TK me on the first night he played. I'm going to ask rpm to audit the PM's you guys send each other
Lol new guy and already has his eye in hey...I see potential. Just nee to get BEEL and Cav on board and we're sorted.

When and where? Don't tug on my heartstrings like this.

What's the rush? I'm looking forward to seeing you run around with that GT 220 "powering" things :p

Let me know when you're able to get your hands on a bag of money and we can arrange something.

My GT 220 should be powerful enough to TK you and flash you in spawn. We shall see. First I need HDD help - go read my thread dammit.

On this note,

http://www.mweb.co.za/games/view/ta...unches-new-CSGO-and-Dota-2-servers-in-SA.aspx

If you remember a few weeks ago we got some reports of players having some rather nasty issues with the local Valve servers. While we used to host the servers at MWEB, we heard from Valve that they were moving their servers in an attempt to "expand the official datacenter to South Africa. The real reason behind the downtime was the servers being migrated to a new host. We do know where this host is, however, but we do know that they are based in SA.

There was a lengthy downtime during this migration as both MWEB and IS hosted Valve servers in the past, and when this "expansion" commenced, these servers suffered some issues. While this is no longer the case. Valve's new servers are a mystery to us as we are not sure where they are situated. The truth of the matter is that Valve did not "expand" anything during this time, but rather just rolled out their own servers and shut down the ones that were hosted by IS and MWEB.

Valve has now issued us with a request to shut down our servers, so we no longer have control over them or can do anything about the latency issues user might face for any reason. All we know is that the new servers are up and that they are based in SA.

I don't know whether these 'Valve' servers are throttled by Mweb and IS, but when I game on srcds006.214.31 it is unplayable. Always srcds006.214.31, no other server is giving me issues.

I did. Still do, technically. However, the Fans were not a fan of fanning, and detached themselves from the GPU. So the Heats moved in, took up residence which ultimately resulted in Overheat, which led to The Crash.

I took it to Rebeltech who told me that they will send it in, I should wait 7-10 days and hear what the supplier (Rectron) want to do. They may credit (due to shortage) or they may replace (if stock). OR they may deem it physical damage (no****really) and refuse to replace.

At which point I shall rain unholy fire upon them and threaten to move our distributorship to another supplier if they don't play ball. Given that we have about 5000 devices in the field, they may behave. But we shall see.

So I upgraded from Intel HD3000 to GT 220.

and to think my GTX 1080 is just sitting here in my pc that hasnt been turned on in a couple weeks...... ;)

Edit: the funny comments from the poster complaining about the price got deleted. Just a boring sale thread now

Yea by the time I read it I thought you were just being mean.

Just jammed some Cache with bots. Averaged 100-130FPS at 1366x768 (*** monitor). Should still be playable on my 1080P monitor I think.

So, good to go for a game (either late tonight or maybe tomorrow)
