CSGO Sticky thread

For what many say is the best awper ever in CSGO, that sensitivity, must be higher than 2.0 (in-game).

I play at 1.7/400
1.7/400 is way too high for me, I play as 1.25/400 at the moment and its still too twitchy, only draw back is I need to from time to time use my turn binds to swing around.

I played at 1280*800 for the last few months of 2018 (was playing 1280*960 before that). I've gone back to 1080p (New Year's resolution!) and I'm finding my usual sensitivity (2.5@400) undershoots when I'm aiming especially when sniping. Will have to get used to more pixels again.

Blame it on the pixels...

I blame it on you people who told me to play at lower resolution
The people who are doing fine at 1280x960? Maybe being pro isn't for everyone. Like the guy from last nights game that was "dgl"

According to pros who've been playing since CRT days. It's just what they're used to and everyone follows them.
Many pros on the scene play at 1080p, it is just that there are people who prefer stretched and only a handful play in a square.

I'm trying to understand something, I play on SA servers casual only, usually get around 30-40ms ping. Speedtest currently has 25ms, when pinging local servers I also get around 25ms yet when I join a game my ping hovers at about 200ms. Why would that be all of a sudden?

Networking isn't that easy, without knowing the details there is no sure fire way of saying. It could be a cellphone uploading, some cloud sync happening or you may even be connected to an EU server. There are way too many factors at play that can influence ping.

Sure, there are no cloud anything happening, I'm the only person connected to the network and the people on the server are South African so it's really odd.
