CSGO Sticky thread

^, yeah...they'll play one of the teams that get through tomorrow probably (or maybe Vitality \ Avangar).

It's a really good format they've got...it runs for a long time but it gives everyone a chance to make it through to the knockouts. I can't see anyone saying they got unlucky here since the teams seeded themselves for the first round of B01 matches. Worst case it takes one BO3 loss to get knocked out (if the team starts off 0-2 in the BO1 matches)...most teams will have a couple BO3 chances to get through.

Train is the Brazilians strongest map and they started as CT. I knew NiP wasn't going to come close at beating them there. The 2nd map, close, but NiP threw it in the opening rounds. Stopped watching then, only later checked in on the 16-14 score.

NiP need to play Team Vitality. Vitality is overplayed, Navi tired them out. Will have to see how tomorrow goes.

I think the cup will be between the two current top teams. Team Liquid and Astralis.

MIBR is lined up with a hot Renegades team.

I have to agree with this video, touchy game to sponsor in regard to what it is but is in an old game continuing to grow in esports popularity so that may swing sponsors into the CS scene,

The CoD esports scene also have this issue. When you can't get sponsors, then you need to consider selling a stake, or the organisation, to a willing player who can bring in the sponsors, the money and is capable in managing the organisation.

@Fulcrum29 - NiP should be playing Vitality tomorrow for 1 of the 3 remaining Legends spot. FaZe vs Cloud9 (if Cloud9 get past Hellraisers) and ENCE vs Avangar for the other 2 places in the top 8.

Here's hoping Vitality best NiP, as I would like them to succeed. Although, NiP will most likely put up a good fight.

I personally can't stand ENCE so I hope Avangar beat them.

Cloud9 vs FaZe should be a good one. Have a feeling C9 can beat them if they play consistently on both maps.

Being optimistic I believe ENCE, NiP and FaZe proceed to the Champions Stage. NiP is much improved and I hope FaZe have their heads in the competition by now. ENCE is a great Finnish team.

But yah, Avangar is the youngest team in this competition and it is clear they put their hearts and minds into this competition. Team Vitality, when given too many rounds will roll any team and NiP is way too testy with their opponents. Cloud9 isn't what Team Liquid is today, but they have their act together and FaZe doesn't have their act together.

All I know is I doubt Navi will prevail in the Champions Stage due to them disregarding bootcamp.

Since Virtus.Pro is out and going to be thoroughly revamped I am backing my second team. NiP.

NBK, Apex and RPK is basically the old G2 Team. KennyS stayed with G2. Though Team Vitality is new, it is the best French team, but I don't know their coach and though the team is gutsy they have too many passive plays.

FaZe FTW. Cloud9 will need 1 more year to mature.

None of that is good for my pick'ems so that's a no from me ;)

I need 1 of FaZe or ENCE to go through...it will be so and that's the bottom line because I said so

Astralis’ gla1ve calls for CS:GO pros steel and Swag to be unbanned
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pros have spoken out in support of wanting Valve to unban the currently permanently banned members of the infamous iBUYPOWER squad.

The North American team were banned from Valve-sponsored tournaments in 2014 after being caught match-fixing against NetcodeGudes. However, since then, there has been a growth in support for the squad being unbanned.

In-game leader Josua ‘steel’ Nissan and Braxton ‘Swag’ Pierce are still competing - with Steel taking his Ghost Gaming up squad the world rankings and even qualifying for the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals.

However, while he is banned, the team will not be able to play at CS:GO major under his leadership, as they’ve had to use their coach James 'JamezIRL' Macaulay as a stand-in. Despite what happened in 2014, there is still plenty of support for Steel and Swag to be unbanned by Valve.

Steel is closing in on 30, he threw his career away though he probably is still amongst the top in NA. He will better serve as a coach.

Swag, well, the NA player with the most potential, but without ‘big’ exposure since the ban. At 22 he can still claim the no.1 spot in NA. Personally, I will rate swag higher than Stewie2K.

The question is, who will pick up these players?

Team Vitality must have sweaty palms by now. NiP is again in that semi-closed window position, where they are now in the competition is where they usually end up in the competition, but they have been doing well at Katowice 2019. They are playing against their oldest rivals, NBK, Apex and Rpk. No Scream, probably why they recruited Alex.

Scream is already in a new team, a team without a name playing under an Uruguay tag. Good team…

Adil ‘ScreaM’ Benrlitom (G2)
William ‘draken’ Sundin (NiP)
Kevin ‘HS’ Tarn (Optic)
Hampus ‘hampus’ Pose (Optic)
Kévin ‘Ex6TenZ’ Droolans (G2)

they are basically open agents waiting to be picked up by an organisation.
