I don't want to sound like an elitist but would someone that is average in CSGO in theory be amazing in COD?

I played source lots and moved to MW2, after a week I was king with the basic sniper rifle and deagle. CS helps with aim/headshots
I doubt it. They're different games apparently. I had a friend come from COD into CSGO and what COD really helped him with was deathmatch mode. He comps like a silver but he deathmatches like an LEM.I don't want to sound like an elitist but would someone that is average in CSGO in theory be amazing in COD?

He said CSGO involves a lot more patience, strategy and understanding of the map's dynamics than he was used to in COD.
He hasn't played in a while but he was becoming a very competent entry fragger. His reaction times are good and his headshot rate is high. He just needed someone to tell him when and where to go but those things come with experience.
First time I played CSGO I tried to spam through that wall on B site near car that used to be spammable in 1.6. We all need to learn![]()
Busy downloading will prob only play later tonight.
Some tips for a beginner ?
Mouse sensitivity: Get it comfortable for you. That is probably the number 1 thing that will improve your play. Keep in mind that you don't have to be able to do 360s at the drop of a hat.Busy downloading will prob only play later tonight.

Keep playing you will get better.
press E to defuse the bomb.
Aim low and shoot up.

Mine is at 2.75 (if you need a benchmark) default is 4 I think
Mouse settings: Turn off things that artificially interfere with where your crosshair goes when you move your mouse. Stuff like mouse acceleration, keep your mouse input as raw as possible.
Pro-tip right here. A definite must do of the bat.
Crosshair styles: Find one you're comfortable with, that is clearly visible. I used to lose track of my light green crosshair on Dust2 (by far the most popular map). This is less important than the other advice though.
I have played with the default one for about 1400 hours. It really is nice and helps you to understand the running and gunning spread. I have however changed to a small purple dot. I t seems to work for me now. You get sites that pre-load the settings you just post in your console. So you can see which one you like, copy the script and post it in the console command.
Don't run while you're shooting. You're far more accurate standing still. You can get away with run-and-gun for SMGs and pistols but when using rifles stand still.
There is recoil. The first couple of bullets will go roughly where your crosshair is pointing but after that they will start landing above your crosshair. If you spray your weapon be sure to pull your crosshair down slowly as your firing continues in order to keep the bullets landing where you want them. You'll learn better control as you play longer don't worry if you don't get it straight away.
Tap or burst fire your weapon at longer distances and spray at close range. Tapping involves firing a single round, pausing briefly before firing the next single round. This way you don't lose accuracy. Burst is similar except you're firing a few rounds in a burst instead of just a single round.
You run faster with your knife out (don't ask me why, it is a counterstrike thing, just accept it and move on). Use that to get to spots faster than your opponents.
You will have to start off playing casual games. Your account needs to reach level 3 before you can start playing competitive mode. Keep in mind when you're getting crushed in casual game modes that they don't separate players based on skill level. So don't get disheartened. You're likely playing against people that have been playing this game for thousands of hours. Once you reach competitive game mode you will be paired with people of a similar skill level to yourself to keep it fair.
Great post Porchrat!
My additions in red.
Just to add:
A very important tip is to learn how to use the console for changing things. Console opens with ` key. The very first thing you should do is type in
net_graph 1
This will show you your real ping and your Packet loss. The other things not too important. It will constantly display it at the bottom of your screen so you can see if you are having issues with your connection. You turn it off by typing
net_graph 0
also in console using the `key

I recommend this to all the new guys, try Arms Race, it forces you to use all the guns and you will very quickly learn all the spray patterns that way. Thanks for all the great tips. Tried a quick game earlier a lot to get use to defs different from bf4. Also going to have to get use to the scope toggle.
