CSGO Sticky thread

The over-ears are active noise cancelling, the in-ears do audio.

Frequencies, noise, it is a vacuum where sound is bounced, and, yes, audio leaks. Besides, I would never want to sit through a competition with in-ears.

I guess the responses are optimised, but still.

They don't have a choice, it's the TO who makes the players use in-ears and the over-ears. These over-ears are new...they used to get the ones like you'd get at the gun range previously.

When they had soundproofed booths, I guess the set-up might have been just over-ears but they don't want people using the crowd reactions.

Those they used in the past was RIGs, schitty headphone in my opinion. These headphones are sure optimised, but in ears has inherent issues in being accurate because the volume (displacement) is miniscule. However, with advanced DSP correction, nowadays, it changed the audio game so it is possible, but it won't be my choice. I am sure their options was trialled with the competitors.

Yeah, they should bring back the sound rooms. They had sound rooms at the Dota internationals.

@Neoprod

I did a read up, the RIGs were replaced with the BOSE A20 Aviation in both the ESL and PGL, but this time around they used the AceZone A-Live headset,

This noise-cancellation headset was specially created to address the esports noise stage issue.

Hmmmm,

In-Ear Compatible

Even though the AceZone A-Live headset has been tuned to offer the best possible audio experience for esports, sometimes players just prefer to use their own in-ear headphones from home. Therefore, the A-Live has been designed to offer a great experience over the top of in-ear headphones once extra care is taken to get the perfect fit.

Yeah... players wouldn't wear in-ears unless the sound audio is not suitable to the conditions.

I didn't know about the Alive Esports.

Anyone forming a team to win the next major?
There are so many local competitions now that any rag bunch can compete. The pots, given our economic climate, aren't small either. The problem is time.

You can have the 5 best SA casuals put into one team, but without practice, exercise and leadership they will get rekt out unless they have luck on their side.

I, Prod and Cav don't even make calls anymore.

One thing I would like to point out...

Even if I called out that they are rushing B, I will be long gone before the two oaks on A stop holding angles and rotate. So calls in our games are for the most part useless. Which for our level is a bit worrying.

For one part, we aren't playing regular enough to maintain consistency. I have one bad game, then all my games are bad. In the days we still had Beel we would have been a good 4 member squad in any competition. Always one person short, and now we are two short. Playing with random players aren't going to improve your game. Pick-up communities help because it is a shared community with a common interest, and scrims contribute, which you don't have in CSGO matchmaking, though Valve tried with Premier mode it is a dead pool limited to Steam Communities.

For us to improve, trading between LEM and SUP, we will need to play more. I play every competitive match like a normal casual.

To quote you, on your call that B is being rushed, it should signal to I and Prod how to react on the instance given the scenario. I never rotate unless I know the bomb is in play, but I have to be told that bomb is in vision or not. Not good to hold an angle whilst another site is being taken with one eye on the radar and the other on my crosshairs, you know, it doesn't work like that. I go by intuition, but when we are being rolled that I will rather play retakes every time. I would say our comms suck, perhaps we should maintain separate comms, which isn't cool in my view since we have to play as a team.

We also have too many coaches and doubters, there are players who change the game up because they think they are better than the rest. The game isn't about kills, given the game's economy, trades are more important than a kill, but damn, so much individualism...
