CSGO Sticky thread

@Fulcrum29 just got home...me and my stuffed tummy are going to bed.

I'm doing a fresh install of windows this evening... tried everything else with no luck.

The FPS drop issue is a reported issue. What is causing it is unknown, and Valve as always don't engage on issues publicly unless they want to tell people how good VAC is working. I played 2 casual maps on Sunday, both dropped below 100 FPS. I am starting to think it may be GPU driver related, but I am not going to roll back.

You need to hope that a Windows reinstalling may remedy your issue. My rubber banding issue, I think it is more widespread, even Twitch my side has quirks.

Valve is tinkering with CSGO at the moment. Just have a look at the depots, stealth Linux optimisations, which isn't reported in their patch notes. Could be the reason... I don't know. Valve is now all on deck with the Steam Deck.

@wizardofid good game ;)

@wizardofid good game ;)

I got my ass handed to me. I am struggling massively the last couple of days. Been trying to play on a lower res, bar that I am struggling with my mouse, getting a lot stuttering issues. Lower res makes a huge difference. but I need to play around a bit more with the aspect ratio, been playing on 4:3, will try 16:9 next.....

Also been playing T a lot on mirage and inferno, which can be rather difficult if the CT's hang back and forced make the first move, last couple of weeks they have been doing exactly that, so been practicing smoking and mollying mid, which will get you slaughtered 90% of the time, more often then not it often helps my team get a decent foothold at the expense of zero kills :(

I have no idea what is going on with the mouse. I might be too close to the wireless receiver, or the build in battery is finally packing up after 4 years. Have another cheap brand new logitech wireless mouse on hand at least

VAC works? I suspect it works so well that either it doesn't work or the cheaters just got bored and moved to a new game where cheating is actually a challenge

You want to take that argument to Valve or Valve community moderators? Valve has time and time, again, made it clear that cheating is but a mere illusion. Valve has never recognised cheating in CSGO as a problem, and never will due to the vast digital assets held by their Steam Community Users. They care about their own product; it is as simple as that.

There are cheat repositories available on GitHub, some old and outdated, which can be used without issue in CSGO matchmaking. I mean...

It is all there, RatPoison is a very common cheat in CSGO. Valve knows it is there, but what have they done about these cheats?

No, I don't endorse using cheats in multiplayer games. The Mybroadband community knows exactly what I think about cheaters. The more cheaters I can get banned, the happier I am.

I remember reading at a stage that CSGO skin trading was a billion dollar industry. Doubt Valve will try to mess with that any time soon. Banning a cheater here or there won't get people as upset as crashing that market will get them.

Cheaters suck, but I understand that people eventually get annoyed of cheaters and they eventually start considering chating them self.

For me my last few games have been clean, so it would seem in the higher ranks there is less sketchy **** happening in general. Just a shame my play style has dropped off and hitting easy shots have become a mission for me

ESL with the quality content.

Twistzz's set-up is like playing in a sweatshop...vibrance 200, monitor close enough to headbutt.

Played earlier this year. Was so much blatant cheating going on. Spinnig buggers and so forth, all the time on basically every map.

I have not played since. I am a casual that will engage in a comp match from time-to-time.

I don't have the hardware to compete so a modicum of a level playing field would be welcome.

There were a ton of cheaters at GE around a year ago, you're saying it seems like it has cleaned up? When I say a ton, I mean like every 2nd or 3rd game. Got boring real fast, the funny thing is, if you're a seasoned player, and actually are in your groove, boosted noobs feel all threatened, call you out for cheating, and one of their friends pulls out a spinbot or something.

Sadly my comment didn't age too well. Decided to queue, first round went well. Second round ok. Then it was just blatant pre fires on corners that don't exist. Its not just annoying playing against cheaters, its demoralizing. Feels like playing the game is pointless. Opted to eventually play Valorant and was instantly more fun. No blatant cheaters, just a good time
