CSGO Sticky thread

Now with CS2 around the corner I won't mind having a regular competitive +5 team MyBB squad to rotate with. Skill level doesn't matter, never did. As long as you are grown up, I am a willing team member.

You would say that until you see me play. Though I do suck less than I used to

Where is Beel?

Funny how that stuck...

So one of my surf accounts had the invite. Played a couple games...

Is it just me or is the sound super soft? Volume all the way up and it sounded washed out.

Feels different but looks great.

I don't know, but apparently the audio is a mess on Nuke. Do you have any other audio enhancements enabled? In some games, things like Dolby and DTS do not mix well with built-in surround sound or spatial audio. The same applies to audio engines like the one made by Steelseries amongst others. In the case you use a third-party audio enhancer, it might be that it isn't yet optimised to mix with the game. I disable all my third-party engines when playing CS2/CSGO.

I can’t say whether this is the issue you are experiencing.

My only issue with CS2 at the moment is that in the way sub-tick is tuned, whether it is related to sub-tick, that it is disadvantageous toward any player who are used to spraying. Valve needs to remedy this issue. I have now watched Shroud, Simple and some others play, who are clearly experiencing these issues.

I played a game now which clearly wasn't all right. It is like there is a delay to everything. I took a look at my play history, and players with lower ping clearly have the best scores. Players with a ping of 1 are winning. So odd. Stats may vary.

"Tapping and bursting felt nice, but spraying felt broken. You couldn't spray at all, it almost felt like spraying in VALORANT."

Happy to know that I am not the only one bitching about it. The delay I have experienced was surreal; it is like my client was playing catch up. There must be something up with how the ticks update with not only the server, but every client.

In theory, all clients should be synchronized with the same tick at all times. However, in practice, each client has its own tick counter that updates. So how can some events only be registered to sub-ticks? Click events could possibly be counter-intuitive to actual ms response times. Eh, I won't know, I don't understand how it works and neither do I think that those who are attempting to explain it know either. Valve devs must be giggling all the way.

The game, under some circumstances, can be perceived as a hit box scan, and it is silly. Not a good sandbox IMHO, it is really like there is some backtracking taking place.

I don't think the game is going to drop this week, the limited beta is going to change to open beta.

Anyhow, I hope this is remedied, but the game is being gamed in the state that it is in.

Multiple people have DM'd me saying they got VAC banned for using a non-protected console command that allows you to turn 180 degrees instantly, be aware of executing random commands you don't know the purpose of.

Playing with very high DPI and pretending to be a spinbot may also get you banned, players still haven't gotten unbanned from this

Those 180/360 degree no scope kills are going to get pinged.

VAC Live is nasty.

So I got rank last night... it was in the lower 7k range. Hopefully this means the games are "easier" and not a sweat fest.

Not sure I'm going to even attempt it tonight if it is release day..

I still have 6 to win, but I am holding back because I am unsure whether there could be a rank reset, and well, I am playing Cyberpunk.

My theory concerning the “sub-tick” issue. Every client has a tick, but not every client’s input is equal, neither their connection, hence reports, and how the server best accurately not only tracks actions but updates it back to every client.

Every client on the server needs to report their tick, but these ticks do not arrive simultaneously. We have learned that certain events are associated with sub-ticks, so these events must occur between ticks. What happens when these events cannot take place by the time the last tick is reported? Could it be possible that slower clients are skipping updates and playing catch up per round pending on events? This would also mess with the client's input since the server would need to guess as best accurately.

I may understand this all incorrectly, but say I am onto something this may be the reason why backtracking could be perceived. I don’t think the loss is high, but losing milliseconds could dramatically change the user experience. Clients with lower ping in my view, pending on how good the player is, do consistently better than others, and it could be due to their clients being the most up to date. This could explain why the pros complain about nades being delayed in their tests.

Saying this, the issue could very well sit with the servers and its connection. I have only had two games in which I have experienced delays, my last two.

I think on a LAN, that Valve's sub-tick implementation could be sublime.

Shame

Saw something funny on steam, someone trying to appeal a 2000+ day old vac ban. Starting every post my "dear friends" and the chaos that ensued was funny as hell. Regardless people getting banned for stupid stuff is not on.

Played a comp match last night, with a bunch of aim bots and wallers, that was fun. Pieces of human excrement of the highest caliber......... My team was squeaky clean. The amount of new accounts in casual that are instantly good the last few weeks is sus as hell...
