I'll give you an IP address tonight for our TS server. You guys can use any of those public channels there for yourselves.

Why not just use skype for voip? Or is that for noobs?
TS is a lot quicker, easier and more flexible.

My mates and I just have a bunch of servers bookmarked. We have one we use most of the time and if it ever goes down (which happened maybe 3 or 4 times in the few years we've been playing) we then just move to another. We run on temporary channels in public servers.

It also has things like changing volume for individual people if one guy's mic is set too loud and such. There are overlays you can install like Overwolf that let you see who is talking while in game. Can't think of much else I would need for voip.

I was playing on Saturday morning and could not hit shyte for some reason. I played a few game and only got 3 - 7 frags per game. I was so frustrated and figured there is no way I'm this shyte. It must be someone on the game client. I log the laaities account and I'm BALLING again. Figured ok, must have just been a momentary lapse. Logged my account and the same bloody thing.

Changed accounts again and checked his settings, changed back to mine and lo and behold... Someone reset my settings to factory and my sensitivity in CS:GO was on 6 instead of the 4.04 I normally play on. Change it back and I'm balling again. Jirre, these kids messing about on my machine drive me nuts sometimes.

Amazing what can happen if your sensitivity is just slightly changed. You don't notice it in game but it makes a MASSIVE difference.

damn man , i play on 1.3 something , but yes , i have also found out on the hard way that the sensitivity, even small changes, is important

The first thing I check when things feel off is my dpi and in game settings.
CSGO sometimes resets to default.

You should set your sensitivity to around 2 and then go for a 400 dpi.

I'm getting a lot of yo-yo'ing when running around which I've read is from packet loss, I'm currently on a 2mb line would upgrading to a 4mb help? Haven't checked how much bandwidth the game uses.

Also have a constant ping of 90-100ms, are people in the KZN region getting similar?

2mb/s is fine

Yes also got the same high latency.

I just tried playing on 4.04 and got my ass handed to me, changed it back to the 6 I normally play on and promptly won the round, everyone has the setting that works best for them.

It's Valve's servers that are not good at all.
It's progressively got worse over the last few months.
Matchmaking servers don't suffer the same though.

You can't just change to 4 and expect it to work.
You need to practice with it until it works.
And you need to set your DPI up or it's pointless.
Going from 4 to 6 is like doubling your actual DPI.
So you'll need to reduce the DPI as your reduce your sensitivity.

I only play Arms Race and my settings work for me, I win more often than not, but I'm sure I would be stoned in the streets if the hardcore competitive players saw my settings.

I also used high sens before but if you have a mouse mat then lower sens is better as you get a feel for where the heads are instinctively.

I do have a giant Asus mouse mat, I also play with mouse acceleration on, which I've gather is one of the first things people turn off.
