CSGO Sticky thread

Have to keep repeating it until it finally sinks in... :twisted:

Having played it some, I( can honestly say I don't really care what a Youtuber has to say about it. I enjoy it, it's loads of fun and a great co-op game, nicely different to CS:GO.

Yes, it needs optimisation etc, but it is just pure fun.
So is BF1. Should really get it. It's a fun and awesome game.

You need to give us tips on what to do in 1vX situations...I get twitchy if I have to wait.
If you planted the bomb, go hide in a corner and wait for the defuse attempt. If you are CT, pre fire the common prefire spots. There are a few of them on each map.

No, totally different type of game. Fun in it's own way I'm sure.
H1Z1 is quiet different compared to BF1. I'd rate Arma 3 as a better game overall however. Just not as easy to play as H1Z1 and the like.

Don’t peak :D :p

It is entirely situational. People need to remember that CT is defensive and T is offensive, and that once the bomb is planted the roles are in reverse. Players need to keep this in mind always. My two biggest gripes by playing with lower rated players, are 1) the rotation and 2) switching A/B sides.

If you are playing CT and you dedicate a site, you stay there, until the caller decides otherwise, and even then, it is up to strategy. People switching out at random is a confidence breaker. It is more common with players hunting for kills. I will say this for the final time, getting the most kills are completely irrelevant for competitive CSGO. Even the player on the bottom of the log may have contributed more to the match than those above.

Then the rotation, if the bomb is called or when it is seen on the map (by view of your team), the team must react on its position. I don’t say full rotate to the bomb, it is situational. If you are unable to move, make the call, because your team needs to know where the enemy is located. Don’t stay in one spot, in silence, hoping to pick up a kill, and remember that T must come to CT. If T’s don’t plant or die the round, they don’t get any contribution to their economy except for that which the players carried.

If I play with lower ranked team members, my competitive level also comes down, because I am forced to do things for the team to react. Yes, I may die a lot, but I have no other option. Loss and erratic pings also don't help, but it is no excuse, don't play if you can't. As T’s we are way too slow and bottled up. It also seems that every player on the team has their own plan, even when called into action. T's generally only need one lurker, again pending on the map and situation. Positioning is terrible, both T and CT side. Get your positioning right and with time your reaction time will improve, but you will get your total damage done to the enemy which is important for the team to get the pick-up kills. I also note that when the bomb is planted as T’s everyone looks at the same entry points, make the call where you are covering so that the other players can adapt. As CT’s, it is like a train going into a site, the defenders will pick you one by one, again rotation, and move simultaneously into a site – the point of entry is again, situational.

Then I can come back to 1vX, if your economy is low and the opposition numbers are 3 (or more) then saving is more beneficial for the team. You also play against the clock (or bomb timer). The money you get for kills per weapon is different, so it is completely situational. But, to be a good 1vX player is up to your player intuition and map awareness, know your spots and listen, tell your team to keep their mouths shut. Learn to aim as I still see many running with their guns pointed close to their feet. Bunny, run less when you are shooting with rifles, play more deathmatches and aim maps to get the hang of recoil. Yeah, I didn’t joke when I said don’t peak, move on the oppositions position by listening. Dust2 is a good example, T get the plant with a full 5v1, CT has a awper long, one by one the team will peak the awper, bomb diffused – I see this happen so many times and even to seasoned players. Not only are the team mates walking into their own deaths, but they are putting pressure on the rest of the team to perform.

Prod, last night you hold bomb on Dust2 A site. They had a awper short, keeping to your position where you took the best plan of action, though you peeked at first, we told you otherwise, and you only reacted when he was forced into going for the diffuse. That was a good play on your part and you won the team a round.

The more the team know each other, the more confidence there will be. The only talking should be that by the caller, and the intel given by the team mates. Nobody must interrupt the other, the reason why I can’t play with kids or egocentric adults. I stop performing once the game is forced to be inconsistent, and this apply to other players as well.

Lastly, regulars must join into a self-hosted map. Get the commands out and practice the nades, entry-points and positioning, translate this into an actual competitive game. Once you guys enter the AK ranks, you will need to know your nades. At MGE, DMG you are ****ed without nade strats. That is all that I can say.

The more we play, the better we will be, practice.

That is like opening a shebeen for the terrorists, they will know exactly where you are. That is if you are not walling :whistle:

I use Tab when red blotches appear on the minimap. This brings up the whole map and you can see where things are happening. This takes away the need for having to wait for calls. If you see a spotted enemy just press tab and you can see the exact location. Learned this from playing with people who don't communicate.

cl_radar_always_centered "0"
cl_radar_scale "0.3"
cl_hud_radar_scale "1.15"
cl_radar_icon_scale_min "1"
cl_radar_rotate "1"
cl_radar_square_with_scoreboard "1"

and add these binds to autoexec, it will make you zoom in and out of the map with + and -

bind “KP_plus” “incrementvar cl_radar_scale 0.25 1.0 0.05”;
bind “KP_minus” “incrementvar cl_radar_scale 0.25 1.0 -0.05”;

I use these radar settings for the map,

// RADAR
cl_radar_always_centered "0"
cl_radar_rotate "1"
cl_radar_scale "0.3"
cl_radar_icon_scale_min "1"
cl_radar_square_with_scoreboard "0"

on which I rely for every match. Then I get called a waller for knowing where the enemy is... some players are so oblivious, not using the radar.

One more thing, learn to walk. We didn’t learn to run first. Believe me, players like me capitalise on your position. 90% of my ‘superior’ positioning is thanks to you stomping your feet around.

yup knowing where your enemy is coming from is a huge advantage.

I am now Nova 3. YAY! :)

I was MG, two weeks ago. I've had some bad games,and bad internet. solo queuing sucks sometimes.

*makes notes feverishly*

is anyone playing later? going to be leaving work around 19:00 so will be looking for games around 21:00.

I am really done for the time being. Too much time invested into this under crunch time. Tiredness is not helping.

No, man...what am I going to do without an instructor? :(

Played two games tonight with people around my rank (Gold Nova Master) and lower (one MG was the only one higher than me) and lost both (top-fragged each time but couldn't get the team-work going.

That has always been an issue for me, once I hit GN3 and I solo queue I get placed with teams that can't play together, and as a result I derank every time.
