On those comp matches, is it normal for the setup to take so long? I waited three minutes and then just cancelled and went back into casual gaming last night ... not least because I also wasn't ready to commit to the 90 minutes they claim at the top that some games can take.

I had one of my old mates over for the weekend, we only started CSGO up around 22:00 on Friday, looked for a comp, nothing, played a bit of casual, looked for a comp, nothing, and so it continued until around 02:00. I will wait up to 10min, but pushing 20min, nie vir ‘n moer nie. 3-5min is about the average waiting time, I think. Remember, it is matchmaking, so there are several variables it has to take into consideration for finding you a match.

We did experience 1-50% choke in casual, the nastiest ‘handicap’ you may experience for connectivity related reasons, maybe this factored in when we were looking for a comp. It has also been the first time this year that I have experience choke.

Yeah. Faze are quite the team now with Karrigan...top 2 in the world going on form with Astralis (who they've beaten the last couple tournaments).

I rate them as Number one. They just seem to have struggled against Coldzera.

SK is back though...they looked much, much better than the end of 2016 when they lost their mojo. felps is not as loose as before - looks like they've put him on a tighter leash, Fallen is coming up with the usual ungodly moments and cold is just cold - he's a machine.

I dunno what the diff is because I haven't used TeamSpeak. All I know is that Discord is a free and quick download, light (so doesn't impact gaming noticeably), easy to add people, and the voice quality is good. Why do you prefer TeamSpeak?

One sends my voice traffic through Brazil so that's cool...travelling is becoming expensive and all.

Always been using TS I guess.

Client is a bit bulky on the first download but after that is perfect. I hardly notice it being resource heavy or a data hog. So honestly don't know. I tried discord once and it was so cluttered I just never bothered again

I find TS to be super clunky and confusing. Discord for me, at least in it's current layout, is super simple, super stable, very easy to use and free as opposed to paying for a TS server.

Other people pay for TS servers, you just hop on one

have to agree with that...TS is a bit classic Windows-application looking while Discord is for the app generation.

I don't mind either (minor quibble with TS is that I often land somewhere then can't move unless an admin shuffles me to the correct channel) though the latency on TS is better.

Yes, this sucks. Luckily I have bookmarked open servers for use, no need for admin moves or approvals

Most TS users I know has migrated to Discord, not to mention that the Discord API is pretty cool.

TS may be self-hosted, it is an advantage. It is also free for educational, charity and non-profit gaming organisations. The codec is well tuned. I know a guy which took Mumble next level, major front-end development for e-sports integration, but the client is still a hassle. Discord it is for us poor folk requiring a reliable, and manageable VOIP connection.
