CSGO Sticky thread

You know, it's not like all terrorists in death matches are running around with the AK. Is it more popular in Competitive? All I've seen is the large number of players who all think they're amazing at using the AWP, and somebody's always complaining about "Oh, it looks like a joined an AWP server" on voice chat.
In deathmatch you can pick any weapon and spawn with it every round. In Comp, you fight for your money. The AK is $2700. The AWP is $4750. So in comp, people typically run around with AKs. People that are good with them will even switch to them from M4A1-S as they are guaranteed 1 shot headshot kills.

Ok, I'm gonna do a few more deathmatches with AKs and will try go slower and actually not dying for a change :D If that works out, I'll be better off in comp.

Do that. Also just practice on an AIM Map. So you can see how the recoil affects the AK, and thus learn how to counteract it.

I downloaded a bunch of aim maps from the Steam workshop, but I didn't find anything really helpful. I've seen some vids where there seemed to be some cool interactive aim maps, but when I sorted the ones in the workshop by most popular of all time none of those popped to the top. Can you recommend any good ones?

^, you and Tribble should play 1v1 aim maps a lot...it's a nice way to learn. Better than bots who don't move like people unless you set them to the highest level of difficulty.

Exactly, that's what annoyed me with the aim maps with bots. I got so frustrated I just equipped a knife and went and sliced em all. I mean it made me feel like a legend, until I joined a real game with human players lol. I'll look into the 1v1 maps, see if I can find anything.

One day this forum will let you @ people, I've only been waiting since 2006.

We don't need to @ you, right Soul Assassin? All I need to do is think "I wonder where Soul Assassin is" and boom, headshot. Aah, there's the crafty wee bugger.

How do you do it? Sense a disturbance in the Force?

At the highest level, bots shoulder peek and move pretty well...better than the people you will play against if you started competitive today.

If you've played death match and had a lot of good players in your game, chances are the bots would be hassling the lesser players. They auto-adjust skill as the game goes on and start making 180 degree headshots (stuff like that). Pretty rude sometimes.

I'm not oblivious like 90% of the people playing, I use my ears and something I think people don't know is that round thing top left of your screen in game is a radar.

Cool see you there. Busy migrating my Steam folder so hopefully it's done by then. My Games folder is ~360GB :(

Yeah, I've already tried that trick ... there are a couple cool choke points to camp at and just get ready for sniping when you hear the steps that don't show up on your radar, but I feel pretty crappy about that. Campers don't seem to have a good reputation in the game either.

Like you were last night? :P Tonight I've got the gym. I'll probably be on later though, like around 8/9pm. You know, when the adults are online and the kids are in bed?

You'll be staying up past bedtime then?

I'll be around until some unknown point. If I see you, I see you. If not... you live another day :D

Who is the chop convicted of cheating? I also took a hit on comps, stats and apparently rank.
