CSGO Sticky thread

I think it's the latter :D

Had another fun comp against a realllllly good group of players. I don't even mind, it's all good experience. It *would* be nice to win a comp for a change though lol.

My role appears to be to die wherever the enemy is doing a rush on a location, just to flag where they are. It's helpful :D

Pro (amature) tip: the CT team is allowed to camp. The T's are suppose to get past the CT team.

Don't worry, I often act silly and rush for the sake of rushing.

On Dust 2, why is there such great love by the Ts to rush Long? It hardly ever works, all it guarantees is you all get killed in a nice group. Same for heading through that single doorway to A. I really think it'd be better to try get through mid because that gives you two approaches to B: through CT spawn and the stairway above. Thoughts?

Rushing long only works when:

1. You have the Spawn to get there first
2. You have an entry fragger that will kill long 8/10 times
3. You have at least one back up to chase the tagged CT if you leg him (They normally run back to Car or CT)

That being said, I watched your game last night as there was no space for me. Think I was in a match when you guys queued. I watched you play a bit Foxhound. My tip for you would be to use your strafing more and pre-aim the corners. From what I noticed looked like you only used your W key and steered your toon with mouse movement only. This means your aiming angle on the corners are out. Practice aiming the corner and the strafing around it with either A+W or W+D. Work on that for now, your placement on the map is fine from what I saw when you holding corners after the bomb has been planted.

Also try to keep your aim up at all times: headshot height. I suffered from the same thing I had the habit of running with my sight aiming down instead of headshot height. You will be amazed at the headshot hits you get if someone jumps out at you ;)

Apart from that you seem to be adjusting to Dust 2 fine. Map knowledge has greatly improved :) Just practice practice pratice.

And reject Cbbl. Last time we played on Cbbl I played like I didn't know a thing about CS (I literally didn't know the map).

Thanks bro, I'd definitely like to get into another round with you. I think this time Bunny, you on your son's account, myself and some other 'normal' players should look for a comp, because when we go in with people at Wolf and Prodigy's level it really does hurt, I won't lie.

I'll try that movement thing, I do use A and D for movement but not during aiming, you're right.

If I'm 100% honest with 32 hours playing you are WAY better than I was at that amount of hours :o :D

The key to playing with higher ranked players is getting use to it. On higher ranked games you will eventually realize the play style, then you just need to adapt to it.

I put all the maps in all the time if I'm lobby leader...can't learn them without playing them under match conditions :). When I started playing competitive earlier this year, I was absolutely **** on mirage...had no idea how to enter A. Getting better at it now...even learned a couple of smokes for jungle and ticketbooth.

@Foxhound - losing is part of it. I think it took almost a month for me to get the first 10 wins - lost quite a few along the way.

True on all counts, just play the maps and you will learn Foxy. And it's true, we struggled to get Prod ranked and look at him now! He'll be Sheriff soon.

tell me about it :(

I would say the right difficulty in terms of competitive level is hard i.e. we should be playing against people who punish our mistakes and push us to get better. So playing with Wolf is cool that way...with the opposition we get I usually end up around even on k/d with a few stars.

I realised quickly that if I'd been playing this game properly all these years instead of just messing around in casual, I'd be a lot better. In casual, I never held angles or even worried too much about them...in comp, that's like a whole thing I have to learn. That and patience and grenades and and and...the list goes on.

@Wolf - I'm going back to being a casual :p

I'll see you in Arms Race :p

Not that casual :p

Game modes that prescribe guns are annoying...if I wanted to play with a Bison, I'd play Street Fighter :crylaugh:

Hahaha

Okay, fine, deathmatch and demolition it is.

What do you mean? The Bizon is a serious killing machine. Here's a video that proves it:

I had my first ever AWP kill yesterday, in Office.

I was running with deagle only and ran past someone dead and picked up an AWP and then a T started shooting as me and I jumped and scoped and blasted him away.

Question, why don't I always earn XP?

You should. You earn XP based on your score in the game. If you don't kill anyone you wouldn't get points.

Also, there's the XP Bonus which resets on Wednesday, then decreases throughout the week. So you could earn double XP on a Wednesday, to no bonus XP on a Tuesday.

There's a limit to how much you can earn in a week...it resets on Tuesday or Wednesday each week.

Congrats on the awp kill...well done.

And now the in-game congratulations - "****ing p03s sniper"

Last night I scored no XP twice even after playing 2 x 15 round games, maybe that's the reason.

I don't like AWPers much, but it seems much more balanced than it was under CSS.
