Hmmm, thanks Soul. I will have a look into that. Good detachable mics are easy to come by. I have never tried a Philips headphone, but the SHP9500 looks to be great. You may have listed my three options. I will still explore whether I can get the Kingston's on the cheap somewhere.

The SHP9500 is some sort of anomaly in the headphone world, they have excellent build quality, they are the most comfortable headphones you will ever wear and they have better audio quality than the HD598, they essentially directly compete with the Sennheiser HD600 which cost $200 more.

Looks like since the server update/upgrade there are no more Cape Town ('cpt') servers (and according to network_config.json), anyone know if this is permanent? I miss my 5 ping.

Yeah, got a few noobs together and we'll be doing a comp at 8pm. Any other noobs see this and want a piece of the action, just let me know / add me on Steam (same nick as here).

Internets are poop tonight for me...limped through a comp now with ping varying between 150ms-250ms. Atrocious.

I will have Amobia send Wolf and Zohan an apology letter :p

Yup, lots of choke and Ping here as well. Makes the game virtually impossible to play at times. 1% might sound small, but it makes a huge impact.

This is the first time in I don't even know how long that I saw any choke or loss at all, my experience has been perfect for months.

Loss in CSGO is the worst thing that can happen, it was so bad at one point I couldn't even hear gunshots right next to me.

It must be some routing or capacity issue. The guys we played against tonight looked like they LAN’ed right next to the CSGO servers. Everyone living here, close to me, has the same issues that I have.

Lol bro, do you always just quit while people are talking to you and not even bother to explain where you've gone? Good to know you're only in it "to shoot some stuff" and don't care about team strategy or communication, better learned then than in a comp, so thanks.

In the end four noobs and one ranked player in our side ended up drawing 15-15 with a team that had only ranked players. Pretty happy about that even if we didn't get a win in the end.

Unfortunately queueing with me isn't an option at the moment. The game is in two minds about my rank. One game I play good and destroy GN's. Next game I play very badly.

Sounds like the average noob experience lol. Getting a few brilliant kills is the easy part, the hard part is maintaining consistency for the length of a comp.
