CSGO Sticky thread

I am watching the PUBG invitational now, yoh, they need to introduce competition rules. It is simply too big to be treated as a competitive game, it needs to be quicker. I doubt that it will overtake CS or any other MOBA anytime soon.

I do like the PUBG spectating mechanics.

Watched game 1...there were like 50 people alive in the last 5 minutes of a 35 minute game. *** boring watching the first half hour...definitely something has to be done abut that to make it more spectator-friendly. And when the fight did start, it was just a mess...very hard for the broadcast to keep up with everything that was going on.

Maybe you must lower your expectations. I mean that bar you want to throw around is too high to reach. Practice makes perfect.

You might have a valid point. Might be time to chill, learn to aim, and learn how to handle a rush.

Like competitive, wingman is a team-based mission. Operate in a team, get someone who can play with you regularly, see what works, switch things up. The general rule is to be comfortable with yourself, then you will learn to appreciate patience even when under pressure. Once you have trust in yourself, you will learn to have trust in other players and I mean random players.

Look, life has one simple rule and that is to ask. You will never know anything in your life, talking synergy here, without asking questions and by this I mean to communicate. You know communication is a two-directional process? If your teammate is mute or an oaf, keep on talking, give intel, he/she will be listening.

This stays a game, there is no real life or (‘and’ going by PUBG lingo) death situation here, but the same life rules apply to win or lose, pick whether you want to win more or lose less.

Talk.

Because this attitude,

Really just two 1 V 1's the whole time.

is indicative of individualism.

How to aim, how to handle rush, that is simple positioning, being tactically aware and not giving your position away by 'running', and to change it up by changing strategy round in-and-out. Learn you smokes, mollies, nades and pre-flashes, YouTube is a educative library, search it.

EDIT:

The radar is a tactical tool, use it.

Just checked, one of the people I've been expecting of cheating have received a VAC ban. Pure joy. If only VAC was a little quicker.

I see that if you comped with someone who gets banned, you lose those games and rank if levelled. I don't think that is fair as you may not have known.

My daughter has to recover 9 games because a "Friend" was banned. She has done that already but she was miffed.

Few things as someone who have deranked after playing against cheaters.

There is always sign that someone is cheating, often the sense of movement and ability to navigate around enemies is a good indicator. The enemy team will always make a noise in chat to accuse a cheater, if someone doesn't notice by then that they are playing with a cheater they will never know.

While I get they you are saying it's unfair, you need to also remember that people also lobby up with a cheater to get their ranks boosted. Now imagine the enemy team deranks because of this, do you think it's fair? The game doesn't rank those people up after dropping a game to a cheater, it leaves them to try and rank out of elo hell again.

At the end of the day it's easy, don't join random lobbies, and if you do, watch the play style of cheaters, they are quiet obvious most of the time.

Another day, another cheater vac banned, but two cheaters in the same lobbies wasn't vac banned. Guess a small victory is better than no victory.

I get what you are saying but this player never cheated when the group played together. Yet they all suffered.

And you say don't play with people you don't know. Some of us don't have a choice. You are all high ranks. I have to play with strangers.

Not true, you have people who would like to play with you....you just gotta accept those invites

I want to be a good player. Ja I am not aiming for Global like Genisys, just want to steadily git gud as they say :)

The ranking system has a ranking threshold, it takes many ‘contributors’ into calculation. Rounds won, MVPs earned, total damage, bomb plants, etc. the complete list is non-disclosed to the public as Valve is promoting people to put their attention to playing the game than to be concerned about an ‘true’ number. Essentially when you earn rank on an alt. account it is calculated on an average, and yes, even prior casual stats are used to do the calculation. I have seen a player go straight to DMG, only to drop 2 ranks on one loss to MG2 as the calculation was updated.

This is why you will see so many alt accounts on MGE, DMG, LE, LEM with only 25-30 competition wins. See where you will be ranked by the time you have 50 wins.
