CSGO Sticky thread

I have to wonder what Valve is up to. Going F2P was still the biggest mistake they have made in my opinion and now with new ranking introductions, it will lure in more people to take the podium at any cost.

SteamDB doesn’t crawl every user anymore, simply too many resources wasted on providing stats knowing that many cheating accounts are now private in any case. This…

...is weird, it may be that SteamDB didn't scan this month. I played a casual the other day, can't remember the player's name, but he had zero spread/no recoil when shooting.

Was in a DM the other night and there was a spin bot running/hopping around...

I use this site, https://convars.com/csgostats/en, to see who plays together where there are matches with ban records. The site only collects matches which were submitted, but it gives a picture to who may be cheating the system. From all our matches, only 1 have been submitted on the site.

Some accounts took more than a 1 year to get banned, but it doesn’t mean they were always cheating.

You been waiting for competitive casual for a long time, since you only perform in casuals

Scrimmage, since it is 64 tick it won't be wise to warm up there when playing leagues. Good to see that Overwatch, a-hem, VACnet will be utilised there.

At least I can now queue against Prod. Scrimmage will be a mess with trolls.

Just watched the video and read the patch notes now. It is basically a beta map testing program in competitive mode. I was hoping it to be an extension to casual mode.

I like this. Atleast we can learn maps in a more "competitive" type environment rather than just winging it.

Will be nice I guess.

It looks like this now,

RANKED:

Official map pool

Unofficial map pool

UNRANKED:

Beta map pool*

*Beta, alpha, whatever, some of the maps in those pools are community favourites for a long time already, but this is likely to serve as a mechanism to upvote maps for succeeding into the unofficial map pool, where it is again played for being upvoted into the official map pool after going for reworks.

Currently, I believe there are three maps in rework. Overpass being one.

Valve is keeping Overwatch in the unranked mode so I guess it will be mostly free from cheaters.

They wouldn’t want to fragment their player base. People want unofficial matchmaking for a very long time now, but it will affect their other game modes. We do have services like ESEA, FACEIT, Billosoft and other private servers, but it isn’t as accessible and forms more of a niche for semi-competitive and competitive players. Ignoring the leagues, I’m just talking of PUGs.

This is still an idea from them which may expand over time.

I take it all back. New maps suck and the last game I played last night left us with 2 people on the 3rd round.

A lot more hacks around these days.

I still don't understand what they get out of it.
