CSGO Sticky thread

CrossFireX is such a shameless attempt at bringing 'CSGO' to the Xbox,


I am sure this title will release on PC at some point since it is actually on PC, but now 'updated'.

They have even copied some CSGO maps layouts,


It looks like Source mechanically.
 
^, the first few minutes of the video the map they're playing on looks like a straight-up copy of Terminal from MW2.

At least they're stealing from the classics.

The best classic is Dust 2. I'm surprised Valorant doesn't have a Dust 2

I never knew about this game until I saw someone stream it today. It looks better now than 2 months ago. At least I now know why Valve wormed themselves into China because this CrossFireX is lucrative enough to expose by competing directly against it. It has quite a market share in Asia.
 
Lately, I have been picking up an old hobby I had. Every night I am making a tune or two. Basically I am making my own samples.

Audio 'Engineers' have some awesome tools to play with. I am busy abusing all the trials and apps I got along with my SSL. Those wanting samples, Loopcloud is the schit.

Anyway. I don't have monitors, speakers that is. This is my next 'big' investment. In the meantime, I have been doing pre and post productions with DT770 250 which is an awesome monitor BTW and very accurate, and I only do voice at the moment, but I wanted to try out positioning, so I checked this plugin out,


which basically virtualizes your headphone, but I remember watching this Z review,


and the Audeze Mobius having Nx tech built into it, I had to try out the virtual sound card,


and oh boy, it works. I am using this with a web cam and damn it is good. I run a loop. It is like R100, worth trying out! It suits simulation genres more, but I am going to try it out in CSGO and see how accurate it can be in an FPS.

Also, those liking chip tunes and the old school MIDIs. For beginners, Rytmik on Steam is the schit.
 
For peeps who like Dolby Atmos and Windows Sonic more so than DTS, DTS 2.0 (it replaced DTS) is out and the issues have been addressed. It supports HRTF now, and I think it may be better than Dolby Atmos, but I haven't tried enough samples and games to date to be sure. I still switch between the two. Atmos makes CSGO a lot sharper, which I can also achieve by EQ in Boom3D, but DTS wins in CoD hands-down. It is personal though.

@Cav5034, you have the Steelseries Arctis Pro? I don't know whether it is the headset or the gamedac, but one has DTS 2.0 built-in. Does those sound better than your old A50, since Astros was basically dependent on their DACs or stations to be appropriately equalised?

It is different sounding... Way more crisp that the Astros and way more bass if I want to turn that up. Can't beat the Astros comfort but other than that they have been great. I do use PEACE for the eq though, SS software is shite...

It is, at least they didn't acquire DTS as Razer did with THX. Many people are complaining about how Razer went wrong with THX, apparently, the surround between L+R isn't very accurate and sharp. Basically it's like having two speakers taped to your ear with the loudness to the max, everything outside that spectrum gets clouded.

I see people are giving the Creative Soundblaster X3 raving reviews, but apparently it isn't that accurate in gaming, but it is the best priced multi-purpose gaming DAC. Stack it with an amp and it is gold. Its preamp is way better than the one in the Sennheiser (sorry, EPOS) GSX 1000/1200 and apparently it does surround way better. Only peeps with headphones, who believes in 'surround', needs this. Most headsets have DACs with an appropriate amp built-in. I am considering to order a X3, pending on how well they are priced on Black Friday and perhaps get a headphone amp along with it.

I am starting to love my X2HR more since I started to EQ it. It is way too bass-heavy, to be honest :laugh: I will stick to the SHP9500 come to FPS.

The Audeze Mobius I have posted is nice, but a bit expensive. Just give them noise cancellation and people will buy those in droves. At that price I will rather haggle a discount on Sennheiser 660 S which is arguably the best stereo headphones on the market come to gaming pending on you much you received in inheritance :laugh:
