CSGO Sticky thread

Have to say, Valve is doing something right. First games back have been balanced pretty well and no dodgy okes.

Think I'll open a case to thank Gaben.

I played one more game last night. It started, okay, but then the team turned toxic, and pretty racist, on one teammate. Man... kids, I said nothing and wanted that match to end quicker than it started. Some questionable antics during the match, observable at both sides.

Ashamed.

Razer's golden mouse, no, not the Boomslang, has been revised.

Razer launches DeathAdder V3 Pro with enhanced ergonomics

The Razer DeathAdder is back in new and improved form. This week, Razer is launching the DeathAdder V3 Pro, boasting HyperSpeed Wireless technology, HyperPolling and an ultra-lightweight design.

First released in 2006, with over 15 million mice shipped worldwide so far, the DeathAdder is Razer’s most popular gaming mouse. With the DeathAdder V3 Pro, the shape of the mouse has changed, adding grooves with reduced flares on the sides for better grip, and an improved ergonomic form for comfort. The mouse also weighs in at 64g or 63g depending on if you have the white or black version, ranking it amongst the lightest gaming mice.

The DeathAdder V3 Pro is more than 25% lighter than its predecessor, boasts a battery life of up to 90 hours, and is easily rechargeable via USB Type C with the in-box Razer Speedflex charging cable. Under the hood, you'll also find a Razer Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor with a resolution accuracy of 99.8%. This sensor paves the way for new functions, like Smart Tracking, Motion Sync and asymmetric cut-off. You can see the full spec sheet below:
  • Improved ergonomic design with ultra-lightweight for long hours of play
  • Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor
  • Wider surface compatibility – Sensor tracks on clear glass at least 2mm thick
  • Razer™ Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3 rated up to 90 million clicks
  • Upgradeable to 4000 Hz thanks to the HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, sold separately
  • Five independently programmable buttons, and additional DPI button
  • Up to 90 hours of battery life
  • USB Type C charging and a Speedflex cable for fluid movements
  • Weight: 63 grams for the Black model and 64 grams for the white model (Excluding cable)
  • Approximate size: 68 mm / 2.67 in (Width) x 44mm / 1.73 in (Height) x 128mm / 5.00 in (Length)
The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is available starting this week for £149.99.

Same price as the Viper V2 Pro which is now regularly on discount (in the US).

OT, but very relevant,

Destiny 2 cheat maker claims it hasn't harmed the game, says Bungie should work with it

AimJunkies is preparing legal action of its own to prove that its software did not cause damage to Bungie.

Bungie ran into a bit of a snag in its legal campaign against Destiny 2 cheat sellers in May when a Seattle judge dismissed its copyright infringement complaint(opens in new tab) against cheat maker AimJunkies. Bungie had argued that the development of cheats was an infringement of its copyright, while AimJunkies defends its software as an original creation—and the judge agreed with AimJunkies.

...

The revised complaint is definitely more detailed, but AimJunkies isn't backing down—in fact, according to a new Torrentfreak(opens in new tab) report, the cheat maker is stepping up its own legal action in defense of its software and the right to sell it. The site says AimJunkies is issuing subpoenas to Valve, PayPal, and Google, seeking information that it apparently hopes will prove that its cheats did not cause damage to Bungie, contrary to what the studio has claimed.

I am curious how Valve will respond to such a subpoena since I don't believe that Valve ever requested a cheat to be taken down. Valve has always had a cautious approach when it comes to cheats, claiming that cheaters are but a small minority and usually the same bad actors. Their community moderators or managers have stretched this point time and time again. Valve has also always been tight-lipped on bots.

Pending on how Valve might respond to or entertain this request, it might open Pandora's box. Then again, AimJunkies might be all talk.

Sums up the solo queue experience. It get toxic very quickly. Then they cry about deranking after being toxic towards their team mates who needs to play with them. The amount of people shouting because they don't agree is too much. I just play more casual games solo. Less crap to deal with

Not much to see here, but this isn't wrapped (it is a real port),

ok, because of today's bait I gotta give you some real info, right? prepare yourself, cause it's a sad one source 2 ain't happening this month. few days ago I got a confirmation that few new maps was officialy accepted still, it might be smth big like an operation

mapmakers who got accepted are very careless, they just talking about it everywhere, even when it's strictly prohibited by valve

so I guess Source 2 won't happen any time soon, but another operation on the way when the last one didn't do too good?

Source 2 won't change much in any case though some previous Valve dev said some time ago that there might be some balancing issues which would need to be ironed out. Don't know where the article is now.

I am only interested in seeing Vulkan being incorporated. Personally, I don't see the need to update CSGO to Source 2 other than to advance its tool sets (hence Gabe Follower ranted about the mapmakers). A new CSGO is more likely, as long as the inventories can be ported.

OT, but also relevant since GoldSrc is a Quake engine derivative, now that MS has acquired Quake they sure as hell is trying to bring it back. Quake is sure to be pampered going into QuakeCon.

I expect MS to make Quake their esports FPS baby. The question is which Quake?
