CSGO Sticky thread

Premier also now seems to be the mode for ranks and such. Competitive carries ranks per map and nobody seems to be playing.

They're also both this weird 13 rounds to win format now instead of 16.

Guess I'm playing Premier from now on.

They also have seasons now attached to Premier though I don't know how it works.

4-stack is disabled in Premier. You can only solo, queue 2,3 or 5. Apparently 4-stack is considered abusive...

I heard they are getting cases of the 4 stacks voting off the 5th guy constantly. So they've stopped it with the software equivalent of a brick to the face.

Sort of makes sense. People can be damn toxic.

A map issue that I have experienced on Dust is sound accuracy.

I played two Premier games last night, and the comms suck, one had barely any comms and other took a while to get the players going with teamwork.

I don't know why anyone will and want to play Premier mode without comms. It is no place to be green.

Why? You have to start somewhere.

You will see a lot of players brand new to CS now. Especially as you're going to be calibrating from scratch. Don't chase them away. Be understanding.

There is no other mode that can prepare you for competitive CS. They have to learn.

I don't get that attitude. Honestly a game can't grow if older players just bully new people.

All I am saying is that in Premier mode you will have to use comms. Then there is also the Discord/TeamSpeak/etc. disparity where you have one group on your team not engaging with the other players.

People will learn. New people will not realise comms are necessary right away.

As to discord I tend to only play as a group of 5, so we're all in discord. On the rare occasion that there are people outside of that group in the game, all of us in discord have all the others muted, so that we can use in-game comms without an echo. Then we use in-game to make sure those outside of discord can hear us.

I've played with a LOT of people recently that don't even have mics. That's definitely a disadvantage. I don't know why people with 10 year veteran coins are playing without mics.

Lol,

I guess many currently topped players have either cheated or have been carried by cheaters to the top. A better picture will be have around 50 matches or so on the leaderboard.

Last night when I played I saw that the old NiP roster is out to beat the scoreboard.

Ok, so I tested cs2 with my new driver... Nothing has changed /sigh

I guess I should put this game on the shelf for the next three months
A friend helped me change my video and game settings and the game is so much better now. I can actually get headshots in deathmatch

I was with an alliance for a couple of years - still on good terms with them but I needed a break.
Now I have to relearn to solo queue. It was one of the hardest things in CS - still is.

Yeah? What did you change?

I just set all my stuff to Low (which the game recommended for me anyway, I just bumped up the textures to Medium...), and it's playable again...

That is pretty much what we did - with a few other settings. Will look now

[ COMMUNITY DEDICATED SERVERS ]

    • cs2 -dedicated +map de_dust2
  • To enable logging, add to your server commandline:
    • +sv_logfile 1 -serverlogging
  • Or add to a config file:
    • sv_logfile 1
    • log on
  • To enable HTTP logaddress forwarding, ensure logging is enabled as above and use:
    • logaddress_add_http "<server address>:<port>"
  • Dispatched logs can be handled the same way as CS:GO

The biggest update is to allow dedicated private servers. At this point I don't think that the game is ready as an esports title. That odd delay to the game which is giving peekers advantage and counter to spraying is breaking the game. Why, only Valve can tell.

Now that demos are disabled, it is impossible to spectate some perceived issues. The demos are glitchy though I think it has to do with its reduced tick rate.

The audio is another matter. At least Valve is proactively updating the game.

My own advice is to learn to tap and burst by repetition. Not to hold angles, but to keep on slicing your angles. Jiggle peeking.

I see many say that the spray patterns aren't the same anymore, but I am quite sure that it is still the same. What I think that most players are experiencing are changes to the spread. The recoil remains the same.

It is possible that the new ticker system may impact the spread, but sub-tick now also means, or at least how I understand it, that the computation is done on the server side. It would be interesting to see whether there will be any variation with private servers.

I also think that there are slight changes made to the models which will impact movements.
