CSS whats the point??

So it would seem that most CSS players have migrated to other online shooters such as BF2 (as u can see above) or Team Fortress 2 ;)

Unfortunately I think its gonna stay that way unless something really exciting happens in CSS or another version of CS comes out.

I know but if your planning on playing it online it eats a lot of cap that game.
And the update patch u require for that game is also something like 500mb.

That sux! I only have a 2gig cap, so that scraps that.....But doesnt BF use local bandwidth when you playing? And cant you get the update off a local site?

BF2 has to authenticate with the international stats server when you play. There's no getting around it.

Anyway, I moved to COD4 and never looked back. :)

I can't wait for COD5... Sniper hides in a tree? Burn the tree down.

Yes there is, at least when I used to play. RouteSentry ;)

CS and CSS were a lot of fun to play but I honestly believed it to be really weird and buggy in a way. For instance I could never understand how people used to aim so good when you could pin your crosshair right on a standing targets face and still hit nada. Always happened particularly with headshots. A friend of mine could accurately hit with a deagle from miles away and I could never get it right :/

Then I heard it was all in the flick of the mouse and they way you moved and where you aimed like slightly to the right or slightly above or below etc...and so on and then I started to wonder....hmmmm...really.....If I flick my rifle in real life would this help me shoot better?? lol

Don't get me wrong I used to be an OK CS player so I would get my occasional lucky run as well.

Yeah...they should have put in a 3sec span invulnerability.

The first shot out of a deagle is mad accurate. So if your aim is right it will headshot.

CSS - Great overseas

In SA, might as well have fun touching yourself

Most of the competitive players that go overseas and starts to play there says it sucks.

So many servers, where most are running weird mods, admins who have a strict personal agenda...

we have 3 pickup servers that almost never plays Dust2, and a lot of CSS competitions.

The reason why maps like Dust1, Aztec etc. are not played is because it is not recognized as an Official map that can be used in competitions... D1 and Aztec are both 2 of the most unbalanced maps possibly in any game.

How does one get on the pickup servers? I see they play a wider variety of maps....but the servers are all password protected. :(

Pick up servers are for clannies.

You go to the #csspickup chat room on shadowfire and follow instructions. Then once a pick up has been made you play on a team of 5. So it's basically a 5v5 clannie with random people.

Hi,

Just a correction here: you may want to add the servers listed at http://games.saix.net/servers_css.php to your Favourites List. Bear in mind those are obviously only SGS servers and IS also do host normal maps (including sniperless Dust2 and normal maps from what I can see from my gaming PC's STEAM client).

I rarely get any time to play anything, but I can see players on those servers when I select Counter-Strike: Source.

Have fun!
