CT psychologist goes missing

Don't know her. Some sort of foul play is possible.

Cecilia Forest is relatively safe, but there have been muggings. It is quite a large area, and fairly easy for someone to disappear, once off the busy routes.

I wonder if the entire forest has been searched.

Also odd to leave a handbag behind and but only take a phone. Could be that she was going for a walk.

If this was the UK there would be lines of police searching the area.

What are ours doing ?

South African National Parks (SANParks) spokesperson, Rey Thakhuli, told News24 that their rangers assisted Cape Town Metro Police and South African police with a search of the Cecilia Forest area on Saturday, after Nelson's vehicle was found in the parking lot.

"It did not yield any results and was called off at approximately 21:30. The search resumed again on Sunday morning at 10:00, where the person still could not be located, and the search was called off by the police pending further investigations.

Not odd to leave your handbag in the car. Its what most do.

You go there to run the trails or walk the dogs. I run in that area and if you go higher up there are places to fall and get lost.

I hope that SAPS have had their sniffer dogs in the forest, with the recent rain it is going to be a problem finding a scent.

AFAIK muggers and rapists don't usually take the time to conceal or bury bodies. There are also plenty of dogs walking in Celia Forest every day, and they would be triggered by anything near the footpaths. IMO detectives should be looking at a wider range of suspects and locations...
