"I'll try to be fair: the Wifi signal is strong and its fast, the Cudy configuration app is excellent, setting up a VPN using OpenVPN is a breeze with this, as is pairing the mesh, and the design of these units is modern and looks very cool. Ok so far so good... now here's the downside. IT DOES NOT WORK RELIABLY, lol. Honestly I just lost 2 entire weekends (seriously 4 DAYS) getting this configured and I'm an IT guy, I have decades of experience as a applications developer and that includes networking knowledge. This product is unstable and unreliable, it cannot find a simple cable modem DHCP connection consistently and the greatest part of all is... if your internet goes offline, or you lose power (which happens frequently in GA) you have to start all over again. It wont re-sync itself to your internet, you'll have to reset the router and start all over again. During this painful process I've become an expert at configuring this Cudy router, and I would've held onto it because I liked how it looked so much and again the configuration app is a breeze to use. But it's unreliable, and I have very VERY busy life. I can't lose this kind of time configuring something as dumb as an internet router. I went back to my old dinosaur Apple Airport Extreme and got my network back up and running in (not joking) 20 minutes or less. I think this company did their best trying to create a product that looks great, unfortunately they didn't seem to spend enough time testing it and refining it. It's simply just too unreliable and I honestly think Amazon should remove it."
It can be done on the AX1800.I also have a Cudy M1300 3 pack very happy with it works perfectly and like you said easy to set up. The interface is easy to use the only thing missing for me is a option to rename the devices that are connected. Not sure if the AX1800 can do it.
Yeah, I have 2 x AC LR lying around, replaced with a TP-Link mesh system from my dad's house. Set up the one to mesh with my downstairs AC LR. The Cudy stuff looks appealing. Especially the AX 3000.Looks like the AX3000 mesh is out, but no local dealers are stocking it yet. I guess that they have to get rid of their overpriced AX1800 mesh kits first.
A pity, because I needed another Ubiquity AC LR access point, and the idea of upgrading my whole Unifi mesh with new Wifi 6 /6E kit is quite appealing, especially when I can do it at the price of one additional Unifi AP.
I am currently running a test pfSense box using two Cudy 2.5Gbps PCIe adapters, no issues so far.Yeah, I have 2 x AC LR lying around, replaced with a TP-Link mesh system from my dad's house. Set up the one to mesh with my downstairs AC LR. The Cudy stuff looks appealing. Especially the AX 3000.
So I received the mesh router yesterday , literally took me 10 mins to setup everything.
No issues so far , I just think the American's are dumb AF.
No issues so far , it's worth it so go for itAny feedback on the Cudy router? Want to get one to try since it is quite reasonably priced still.
