Curious - Your modem

I just had this funny thought. How is your modem placed?

Eg. Is it in an upright position? Is it on it's side? Is the antenna twisted upward or sideways? Let's hear.

I have my antenna stuck vertically against a window with prestik. Signal is alot better if the antenna is vertical.

Mine stands upright on a window sill +_7m from the router and PC desk, even though it makes no difference where I put it in the room as the signal stays the same "10/10 unnaturally good" according to uttstar.

It's going to have a hard time frying my brain from 7m away, I moved it there as it's facing the tower to make sure if the tower gets overloaded it should get preference over modems further away.

Surprisingly, I get better signal when my modem is on it's side, rather than upright. It's strange, since the antenna is lower when the modem is lying down.

lol, its on top of a big block of flats.. no worries.

Of course, the people in the flats on the top level.. well.. sucks for them, an extra ear or two might come there way.

Even far away from a window? If I take mine more than 2 meters away from the windows, signal drops dramatically.

I can put it on the floor under the desk and it stays the same good signal, then again I guess been on the floor upstairs is the same as having it at ceiling level in a single story house.

its about 1m and a half at the moment and no change, i think the furthest its gone away from a window is about 3m and it was still 100%, will try see how far i can go later after some good ol' sleep
