So, as we all know, the rand went into the toilet, down the bowl, and is almost around the u-bend

Now, what happens if / when Donald Butrump

becomes president and the Dollar goes for a ball of crap,

Would the rand tank as well? Or would the rand become stronger?

The ZAR did not go into the toilet. It has been gaining in strengh for almost 5 months so I suggest you look at charts.
If the $ tanks the ZAR will gain.
We all know apart from you that the ZAR is still oversold and the $ is overbought. This is correcting now and will continue for some time.
I am calling 13 and at best 12.

So the Don takes over and the US dollar goes south ..... it would mean that relative to the USD the Rand would strengthen.

Having said that, as a currency it would still be worth shyte relative to say the Euro or GBP.

Our manufacturing and employment rate will need to pick up, and politics will need to be more FDI friendly to save the Rand.

Before you shout the odds, have a glance at the charts. The ZAR has gained against all majors since December and due to Brexit, the £ has lost the most against the ZAR.

will keep an eye out :)

All depends on the Dollar... Seems the EM rout is subsiding... But China still holds the keys to that conundrum...

Trump will not win the election... Hillary will win and then the Dollar will continue to fuel asset bubbles until the world market implodes... Or so I have read...
