WTF!!!!!!!!!

I dont watch the program in general, but was watching tonight as it was the final 3. So they say that Jason or whatever is through to the final, and just before they say who the last person is to the final, they do a promotion saying that Jason and Sasha-Lee are doing a nationwide tour in malls around the country this coming week.......

Now call me dumb or something, but is that not giving away the final 2, before it is announced properly??? Why would they have a roadshow with a finalist and someone who is out?

I think that MNET is gonna have a seriously red face after that, cause i dont know if that useless presenter did it by mistake, or she was told to read that then by the producers....

This must be the worst locally produced show on tv in a long while.....

Jason is a star. Graham (spelling?) is also going to be big. Sasha will fade away with the rest of them.

ROFL. After watching the American Idol this season the local one sucks so badly. Compared to the local singers the Americans are just so much more well rounded.

Disagreed. Jason is world class.

No, he may be up there in SA terms, but world class he ain't.

Lots of our acts are world class. I'd much rather listen to Zebra and Giraffe, Cassette or The Parlotones than many international bands.

We just need better producers and better marketing.

Bono is a singer who hugs trees and Jason is a tree hugger who sings, a perfect combination.

That's you. I'd much rather listen to Adam Lambert or Kurt Nilsen. Or Seether (South African band who made it big cos they got "it").

Unfortunately, I have to agree with kingmonty :(
Jason is good, very good...the best we have to offer...

I also follow the American *spit* Idols, and Jason would struggle within their top 48...

But, he is a SA boitjie, so kudo's to him...He is (the one and only) Johnny Clegg in the making :)

Have a few of the older American idols on the hardrive, Kerry Underwood, Bo Bice etc.
We really do not come close, sad, but maybe one day we find some real talent.

O come on - compare apples with apples. The Yanks have almost 300mil potential idols (based on population), our little 3rd world country has 50mil.

They are geared to export their culture via Hollywood and DSTV, we are geared ro play rugby. We suck at showbiz, they suck at rugby.

I still think our finalists are very good. Stop comparing us with the US. It is not fair.

While i dig our local bands like Zebra and Giraffe etc, Idols should not be really compared to bands, local or international. It is, first and foremost, a singing competition, and compared to Americal Idols, we suck. Badly. This is not to say we don't have brilliant singers, i just don't think they've entered. ;)

I think the presenter is as Randal put it to some talentless contestant in the beginning "You are like a flat pancake". I'm sure the women doesn't know how to change her expression or tone of voice.

Rolf, being fair has nothing to do with it.
Talent, as decided or seen by consumers (locally and globally), is clearly not what we have.
Having a large and small population only increases the potential that is may be out there, somewhere.

I'll buy a Chris Daughtry cd, for sure.
