At the moment we are currently between Section 45 of the ECTA, the CPA and POPIA in terms of spam and consumer protection.

This takes unsolicited email to consumers from opt-out to opt-in.

I appreciate there are many opinions, this is a sensitive issue etc, but please refrain from replying for now unless you have something authoritative at this time.

Are there any South African legal eagles out there that can enlighten us exactly as to the progress of POPIA and consumer protection?
