Based on the picture looks like it's using corn flour as a thickener. Corn flour in a Durban Style curry is farking disgusting, both in taste and texture

Pakco Roatsed Masala is IMHO one of the better commercial substitutes if you don't want to roast and grind your own garam masala. Not sure I've come across any other commercially made masalas where the whole spices were roasted before grinding.

I've been using the liquid Ina Paarman stock, but it is very salty. Never knew about this...grabbing some off of Takealot as we speak.

Buy off NoMU's own online store - much cheaper usually. If you like their rubs, which I do, you can then order chef pack sizes which are also much, much cheaper.
