Hello, I have a Prestigio Multipad 4 Quantum 7.85 Tablet.
(PMP5785C_QUAD)

Is it possible to install a different Android than the usual maybe even a different Linux distro?

(Reason, all my shiat is android, but the normal stock android. I want something different)

Any and all advice would be gorgeous.

Site wasn't much help thou, maybe rephrasing my question would be better, Can anyone assist me in installing a custom rom, just something different than the normal android that comes with standard devices as this android looks pretty basic nothing fancy at all.

Here is the specs if this would help, I have no idea how to root this badboy:

I have no idea what to do next.

I am so noob with this.

On my Gobii I think I have clockwork mod.

Not really sure what that means or what I can do with it.

Thor,

Iv just spent 3 days trying to Install Cyanogenmod on my S4. Steps i had to take was Root the device 1st, Kingoroot helped me here. then i had to install a custom recovery. Only once i had done all this i could install the Custom Rom.

clockwork mod is the recovery side of it, cyanogenmod is one of the most popular of the roms. im loving my phone since having it.. I have to admit the phone does seem to be warmer while using it quite a bit but other than that no real big issues.

If only I had the experience to load cyanogenmod.

You don't need experience per se to install a rom once you are rooted and have CWM/TWRP installed. Please fully charge your phone...

1 - Download rom
2 - Reboot into recovery. Make a Nandroid back up.
3 - Wipe Dalvik/Cache/Data/Factory Reset
4 - Install Rom
5 - Install GApps (Optional)
6 - Wipe Dalvik/Cache Again (Optional)
7 - Reboot

I recommend TWRP tho. And I know it sounds hectic but its not. The most important part is installing recovery. If you stuff up the recovery you will most likely brick your device. But if you mess up the rom installation/kernel or install an incompatible rom (soft brick), you can can still save the phone from recovery.

DISCLAIMER: Rooting your phone and using custom ROMS have risks, and if instructions aren't followed you can BRICK YOUR DEVICE. I am NOT responsible if your phone breaks, if world war occurs, or if your dog dies!
