Hi, do any of you guys know of a company, or just some guy that loves DIY stuff, in the Western Cape that builds computer cases to your specs?

We should have a computer case thread...hmmm, anyway...

Like a custom built chassis. I don't have the skills to do all these things with metal. However, im thinking of swapping my CoolerMaster Sniper case with a desktop case or one of those Lian Li cube boxes.

If I get a Cube-ish set up then I will place it in the cupboard of my TV stand, but I am worried about heat.

I've looked at most of the desktop chassis' but its too wide to fit into shelve of the TV stand because the receiver just happens to be 1 centimeter to wide to play nice with the desktop cases like Lian Li C60 etc...

I will post pics of my set up later, im just finishing this post in a crappy way 'cos im in a rush, came late to work. :p

Throw me a PM with your contact details, will gladly help out.

By the sounds of it though, you may not need something custom. Will wait for those pics to see whats what. As for heat if you put it into a cupboard, it depends what hardware you're going to be running.

Ok so this is the setup. The Receiver takes up 43.5 cm in width, finding a pc case with a width of 41 cm would be a very tight squeeze, and those that exist looks schit. I would really like to have my case next to my receiver though.

The other option that I'm a bit skeptical about is having a case in one of these cabinets.

My hardware:
Asus Gryphon Mobo
8 Gigs ram
i5 4570k
Stock cpu cooler
Coolermaster 850w sm2 psu
Kingston 90gig SSD
2TB Seagate
AMD 7950

This Coolermaster Sniper case can go once I get a new case.

With that GPU (or anything half decent) putting it into a cupboard wont work unless you can make some ventilation holes.

I assume the space in that TV shelf is roughly 85cm, hence the need for a 41cm or less wide PC? Seems like 17.52" (44.5cm) is a standard width for a mATX HTPC case, but I'll look throughout the day to see if anything exists. On the plus side, I remember throwing together a HTPC a while back, and its definitely possible to get it around 36-38cm wide.

@Ponder...this is why I'm so anal about the Width.

That is 100% correct Archer

Hi Gary, thanks, but I need something in the form of my Receiver, not a square box. If I do go with the square box and place it in my cupboard, then I might get heat issues.
