Hi, i've been looking for info on making my own dust filter, lots of places suggest pantyhose and wrapping it around the fan and using an elastic band to secure it. The problem is half my side panel has holes so just filtering each fan won't make a difference. What would the easiest way to filter pretty much hal,f the side panel be,i was thinking of making a frame or sumthing and screwing it into the panel but then the fans would have to be screwed through the filter making it a mission to clean. Also tohught about magnetic strips but no idea where to get those. Any ideas?

The filter would have to go in front of an intake fan,so how does the fan get screwed into the case?

You screw fans in the case where there are dedicated holes for screws.
Like in my CM 690 II advanced case, I actually had to cable tie one of the fans, because there was no holes for screws for a front-top fan.

what i meant was do the screws go through the filter material?

Yes, except my cases panel has holes everywhere, so even if i filter each fan theres still open holes. Thats why i wanted to somehow filter the whole side panel. 18 holes vertical,44 holes horizontal.120mm fan only takes up about 15 x 15 holes, so im left with all these unused holes that dust can still get in through. Sorry im crap at explaining things. Therefore the way i see it, if you screw the fans from the outside of the case, the screws would go through the filter and into the fan, which means you would need to unscrew everything to clean the filter, unless you had the filter on the outside of the case which would look stupid.

Its magnetic, so it'll just stick to the case. If the panel you are wanting to put it onto is not steel, then ask for the magetic strips.

edit: and he'll make any size you want, just send him accurate drawings
