Cutlery, Pots and Pan Brands

Moving in with my GF soon. What are the best quality cutlery, pots and pans brand that you will reccomend?
Looking to buy the real macoy not some cheap chinese stuff that lasts a week.

Actually the chinese makes nice stuff, if you can buy the real Chinese stuff. They have been making those things longer than anyone else.

Anyway for more other brands

WMF for pots and pans, Le Creuset is also great. Zwilling knives, or Victorinox

But if budget is tight, just get some pots and pans from Woolworths, or even Pick n Pay.

Le Creuset is ok for cast iron but for steel WMF is better.

Echo Le creuset for pots and pans and victorinox for knives.

Not cheap but will last a lifetime if taken care of

Stainless steel with glass lids are what we have used for the last 25 years. I personally wouldn’t pay the yuppiechef premium but have no doubt they will outlive you.
Add a couple of cast irons that can go in the oven and some disposable non-stick pans and you are set.
 
Would 100% recommend a proper Cast Iron pot set - don't get any cast iron pots or pans that have that baked ceramic nonsense in though!! Get a proper "potjie" type cast iron pot and pan set, take good care of em and I promise you that you will one day leave those pots and pans in your will for you grandkids!

I got lost trying to pick a "proper" non-stick pan and decided to just grab a Tefal from Takealot. One of my best purchases of 2021.
 
On the topic of knives ..... Yes.... Victorinox is nice BUT.... all knives goes blunt.

I've had this oke for over a year and ALL my knives cuts like a razor. Even the cheap Spar knives.

Stainless steel pots/pans - Go to Woolworths stores that sells these. Don't recall brand but it is probably Woolies own brand or Blaumanns/Brabantia. Very decent ones although expensive.
