I am going to start my first cutting (calorie deficit) period next year. Anyone got some tips for me? How to start?

It is mentally tough and requires lots and lots of discipline depending on your goals.
My only advice would be to find what works for YOU.
In my case it is Keto and Intermittent Fasting. Going off either of those lead to week long cheat meals for me before kicking myself about self-sabotage and then jumping back onto the Keto/IF wagon where I quickly see results again.

Personally I've started with 18/ 6 . Now depending on the my mood I either do 20 or 24 hours. With 18 hours now is my break day.
