Did you do a backup before you flashed the new one?Soooo, I messed up...![]()
I had been running Cyanogenmod 7 for several months, and just couldn't help myself when I heard about the nightly CM9 for the Motorola Defy (http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=jordan). Somewhere something went wrong and I got stuck in a bootloop. After trying several SBFs I think I made matters just a little bit worse. (I think I flashed a newer full SBF which didn't work, and now I can't go back to a lower version due to eFuse).
Now, the only ROM that I can flash is JORDN_U3_97.21.51 which gives me an ancient Android version where the phone part and most apps don't work.
How can I get things back up to CM7 or CM9? I've read through so many guides and forum posts that I'm probably more confused now than when I started.
I'm not familiar with SBF but what I would try is wipe phone data and dalvik cache from recovery mode, then flash the copy of CM7 that you had before, and then you can restore your apps and dataUhmm... no
I just did a backup of my apps and data, but that's not going to help me now.
hehe just remember to backup the whole rom next time, then you can tinker as much as you likeHalleluja!![]()

My baby is back! This has been a painful two days without my phone. I finally got it back on Cyanogenmod 7 using Method 2 under the Common Problems heading of this guide. I've tried similar steps previously, but must have missed a step somewhere which is why it didn't work then.
Thanks for your willingness to help. I think I'll stay on CM7 for a while until I build up enough recklessness to try it again.![]()
Loving CM9. Buttery smooth.
