I have been a Cybersmart customer for a long time, but the speeds that i am getting currently are horrendous. My torrents have slowed down, my xbox cant even log onto xbox live and when it does it keeps disconnecting. Even the guys i referred to Cybersmart are having problems and can't game either. All in all I'm paying money for a useless product. Who is the best ISP for torrents and gaming at the moment? Any suggestions, as i think it is time to jump ship! Seacom can't still be the problem.

I've tried most of the ISP's over the last few years. Even tried to move to Cybersmart on valentines day but it took them like a week to respond to a simple query - so decided it wasn't worth it.
I am currently with Telkom, and their network seems pretty good once you have managed to get an account (their switchboard is terrible).
Far and away the best ISP I've used is MWEB. They consistently were almost perfect. I've been a very heavy user at points, and never had a problem, plus there really seems to be much less shaping than other ISP's.
Only reason I am with Telkom now is because I can't afford MWEB's 10Mb.

I'm having the same issues with Cybersmart with an uncapped 2mbps line. If I'm lucky I get to play one game of DotA 2 in a week, the rest of the time the game almost instantly disconnects me.

I'm simply not getting the speed I'm paying for. It's very frustrating, especially considering I've been with them now for almost 6 years.
Seriously considering transferring my line and account to Afrihost.

Know how you are feeling, we gave notice to cybersmart, planning on moving to telkom. Cybersmart is horrendous, webpages take forever to load, torrent crawl and we are not even heavy users. That does not include the fact that we were suppose to be on a 2mb line and the it all of the sudden changed to 1mb with no explanation.

Openweb seems a good choice for some, however is more expensive than telkom.

Hi CyberSmart

I've sent you a PM, please confirm if you've received my messages. Wouldn't like to switch to another ISP, I've had a lot of good years with you.

Hi snoopimaru, inbox received. We'll get working on this straight away, thank you for your loyalty :).

I had 2 bad months where I could not do gaming on UK servers. It seemed to be related to Seacom but also other things because it was on/off for certain periods and affected local gaming.

So far my line is back to normal for the past 2 weeks... there were some maintenance periods so just check it..

I'm on 2mbps with 10gb cap, and prior to this year the connection was really good, always at 100% speed. So I am hoping it returns to that. Otherwise I have to find a similar unshaped/restored service... I guess Mweb.

Cybersmart are fantasic! Better than M-Web! Been with them for over five years and have had very few problems. I'd rather kill myself than moving over to Telkom.

If you play games online, you have to keep your day traffic/torrent usage down because they monitor you over the last three months. If you hardly download, you'll get your full speed at anytime when you need it.

Cybersmart does not have a news server, so they are effectively dead to me. I was with them for two years, started off well but ended very very badly.

I just changed to a capped account and it was fine at first but lately in the mornings downloading takes forever. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a Cybersmart problem?

Definitely cannot recommend them. They seem a little desperate now with employing 1-post wonders around the forum recommending them.

I was with cybersmart for about 5 years also, but service became really pathetic, couldnt even open up some web pages. Moved to Webafrica and havent had a single problem since.

with them for about 5 years also now, on a capped account and service has become bad, they prioritised my account and reset the port but it only helps for a day or 2, international gone really bad, seems as if all my international content is throttled from streaming to displaying images on a website. For some reason youtube works fine still but i'm guessing that's because youtube is locally cached.
Been testing a WA account for a few days and seems great so far, just concerned how does p2p perform on their capped accounts, don't want to deplete the test account yet.
