Stay away from Cybersmart FTTH on Vumatel so far its been a complete joke.

The debit order form or contract contradicted itself compared to what the package on vumatel's portal says and their own website said.

Their account department cannot get the billing right and now after two months of service they tell me I must use a l2tp tunnel because they are withdrawing their IPv4 ranges from Vumatel.

I have 15 years experience in the IT field and 10 years experience in enterprise WAN environments so I would like to be able to manage my own router without having to rely on someone else I know what I am doing.

I do not want the additional overhead with l2tp as this would have an adverse effect on gaming traffic.

Does anyone know any decent ISP's on Vumatel?

And don't tell me Cool Idea's because their international traffic just drops at random times without warning.

Hi Nightshade, I tried to engage with you on international drops because it quite simply doesn't, if it did then why would we make our traffic graphs publicly available? Happy to give you a free trial and ensure you are happy with the service if you are interested?

Hi PBCool, To be honest with you the international issue was only part of the the problem for example my previous 10mbps PTMP wireless link with Bitco was better than the 100mbps fiber ISP package, Locally I would get 100mbps but internationally for example to the EU it would hardly reach 10mbps most of the time on occasion if I was lucky I would get 20mbps+

There has been a history of some Vumatel equipment being faulty for some ISPs in some areas resulting in packet loss.
It makes it look like an ISP problem as local bandwidth is fine, but that's merely because of the gigabit underlying speeds and super low latency meaning retransmits and tiny tcp windows are not an issue. When you get loss on an international connection, throughput tanks.

Over which services? I did request examples of these and don't believe I ever got the, half of our international capacity is directly to London, was this before we built our London POP?

We have seen more of this kind of thing on the PON networks, but it has happened on the AE side as well, packet re-transmits over super low latency isn't noticed but over international it has a major effect.

It was around 4 months ago, I was seeing these speeds to Azure and another VM's I am running in London as well speed tests conducted on testmy.net and speedtest.net.

The latency to Azure was also not consistent sometimes 180ms a few hours later over 280ms.

We deployed our London POP around 4 months ago, so pm or email me an IP of one of your servers and I can do the same tests as you like?
