After several months of frustration I eventually gavve Cybersmart a cancellation notice at the end of last month. It would seem that last week they transferred my line back to Telkom, but for some reason downgraded it from 4MB to 384K - I've spent the last week trying to get Telkom to fix a slow line

Now I need to get Telkom to upgrade it again!!!

I have never seen the point in getting your line managed by the ISP. It kinds of ties you into them. I rather pay a little bit more and have total flexibility

Ye but with Cyberdumb, the only way you get the "excellent" packages/prices they advertise is to give your line over too, otherwise it's more expensive.

Have you considered the possibility that it may be Telkom?

When I moved my line over to Cybersmart, the geniuses at Telkom automatically downgraded me from Closer 2 to Closer 1. I ended up paying for a long distance call that would normally have been free.

I don't think Telkom likes it when ISPs take business away from it. Yes, maybe Cybersmart is grumpy, but I think that Telkom is just plain spiteful.
