Anybody who has their line with Cybersmart and experiencing high and erratic latency when playing Dota 2 (SA server naturally)?

I'm at a loss and Cybersmart have no idea what's causing it. I've tried backup ISP accounts with the same result. Nothing's using my network, so it's not that.

It's so frustrating, and i'll have to move my line if it persists.

Just to check.... you say that no matter what ISP you use you have latency when playing Dota 2 on SA Servers?

The line is with Telkom, if there is something wrong with your line then they have to sort it out.

the ISP can't help you with line issues, if other ISP's have the same issues then its the line.

From his post, I assume Cybersmart is managing his line, not Telkom, so they would have to try and sort it out. As a rule though, you should never let an ISP manage your line. Burnt my fingers once, and it was enough. Rather pay a little more, and have your line directly with Telkom.

Yes, my line is currently with Cybersmart. I know, the general rule but generally my line has been behaving the past 4 years or so, but alas it seems like i'll have to brave the struggles of moving lines.

Good day thaabietv. Please DM us your username and we will look into the matter.

I also moved my line off of my ISP account back to Helkom thinking it would be easier to get problems resolved. Never been so wrong. We have also been experiencing bad latency on our internet line for the last month or so (usually between 6-9pm every night).

My wife decided to call Telkom yesterday to report it. The call centre idiot said to my wife that they cannot do anything about latency :wtf:, so my wife basically asked what is causing the latency and the guy could not answer, She asked him then how he can claim they cannot fix something that he has no knowledge of.

In the end the little bag of Sh@t from Telkom actually refused to log the fault for us.

Wait until I send 220 volts down the telephone line and then they will need to come out and fix more than just the line.

Fcking idiots

The benefit of having your ADSL line with Telkom, is that you are free to move ISP's without any downtime. In most cases, ISP's are where people's problems start, so if you want to change ISP's, it's not a problem. Having ISP's migrate your line back to Telkom sometimes becomes an issue filled exercise, with some not willing to do it, and canceling your account AND ADSL line when you terminate them as your ISP. Cybersmart was (is ?) one such ISP. When I cancelled with them, they were going to cancel my line as well, and that would have been a huge problem for me. They insisted that they cannot migrate my line back to Telkom because I had taken out a bundle with them. Luckily, a very helpful dude at Cybersmart migrated my line back to Telkom, and I had no downtime at all, but that was after a lot of phonecalls and back and forth emails. I will never let an ISP manage my ADSL line after that experience.
