On the morning of the 21 Feb, while at work I checked my Cybersmart e-mail using the web based e-mail and noticed 3 important e-mails one of which is the account statement from my local municipality.

However, on downloading the e-mails later that day those important e-mails was gone, and replaced by old e-mails which I downloaded and deleted more than 10 days earlier.

Anyone else experienced the same ???

I haven't experienced this, I'm just here to recommend you make yourself a Gmail account. For most people ISP email accounts come and go but you will pretty much always have your Gmail account unless the world ends.

I do however remember that Cybersmarts email server/software is horrific to say the least.

Maybe I should do just that, in my ignorance I thought RICA requires that ISP's must keep records of all e-mails for a certain period of time. This is how it works at my work IT department at least.

Move away from Cyber-Not-So-Smart my friend. I have moved a number of clients from there because they are just terrible and expensive all round!

There is no such requirement for ISP's to keep records of emails. It would actually be illegal to intercept people's emails.

Hi Jacobl

We did have a problem with one of over email servers yesterday. This has since been resolved an the mails are being copied over. You should be able to get the emails later today. You can PM us your username and we will look into it.

they actually are the cheapest of the ISP's. and one of a few ISP's with their own backbone. never had problems with them and had several lines with them since 2005. i'm moving my stuff back to telkom as its simply easier to pay one bill instead of three for each line. if i had a problem i phoned Laurie, the CEO directly and he fixed it quickly.

i'm leaving them as a happy customer.
