Hi,

I just got connected yesterday at home with a home/392 ADSL line & I have a D-link external modem

My problem is last when playing BF2, sometimes I got a message which switched me desktop saying it lost connection - re-attempting login in 47 seconds...etc.

WTF is that all about. Its a perm connection, how can it loose connection. Its a reall bummer because it happened a couple times and once I was doing really well and when I rejoined I got put on the losing team & got pwnd.

Any ideas?

Whats mad is that I just got the modem and it didnt have software to install it has a web-based config thing for the modem.

But, I cant get into it. It says you must open a new internet window and goto http://192.168.1.1 and then the options come up to config...but they dont:confused: - I checked my internet options & they're all good.

I still managed to setup the connection and go on the net without doing any of the settings...This is most likely to be the problem with re-connect I guess.

Anyone got a D-Link ADSL modem like this??

Thanks for your advice Linkin

Hmm, you cant get to the router config page. It maybe have something to do with the software firewall on your pc. Check your lan settings, make sure your ip is either auto assigned or 192.168.1.???. ??? is usually in the range from 100-255. Also if its not auto assigned make sure subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and default gateway is the 192.168.1.1. I'm assuming you are sure that the routers ip is 192.168.1.1, just double check that in the manual. The default username and password should also be in the manual and instead of typing http://192.168.1.1, try typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of internet explorer
