I have just been told according to the fair usage clause in the contract, as an uncapped user I only get 10% of my line speed until 12am.

So essentially I am paying for a service I am not receiving.

BYE BYE Cybersmart don't let the fair usage policy THROTTLE you on the way out.:twisted:

That applies to downloads, not browsing etc.

Downloads, streaming etc. the P2P stuff is totally blocked during those hours.

http://www.cybersmart.co.za/package_compare.cgi

it is clear on their website what they are offering and the restrictions there are. There is no uncapped service from anyone truly, only the illusion thereof.

Only getting 10% of the service you are paying for is not FAIR usage no matter which way you look at it. It's plain daylight robbery.

they mention ''Managed between 07:00 AM and 12:30 AM'' They don't MENTION 10%, that's not 'manage' that's abuse!

Upgrade to business like the rest of us.

P2P , automated downloads and Newserver is managed during the "business hours" so they can provide QOS for their customers, if you looking for a package to specifically do the above 24/7 then a home uncapped is totally the wrong package, you would need a business package like Chevron said, they not as expensive as they once where. Look I get the uncapped not meaning uncapped argument that everyone has, I just figure with so many threads containing this argument one would by now know what can or cannot be done on selected packages from the different ISP's and choose one suited to your specific needs. Personally i am on a capped solution as I got tired of clicking on a download and getting 10% of my line speed, now when I want something, I get it a full line speed any time of the day.

I am going on a decent capped solution now.

Nope I have decided to move to another ISP, preferably one with a Newserver

Rather use a paid news server. I find most ISP's with their own News Server shape their downloads to a crawl.
Paid server with SSL = Full speed all day (at least thats my experience with my ISP)
