Cybersmart?

Hi Guys

I am looking to change my ISP account to Cybersmart. Has anyone had dealings with them in the past? How are they for online gaming latency? Currently I get around about 178ms to EU.

Would It be possible to get a test account from them to try the latency? Currently I'm on a 4MB line and Account at a certain ISP (Won't mention which one) and the online gaming is awesome on their network! Would hate to lose that

Hi,

I used to be with them and then moved to Afrihost. Their support was terrible. What ever you do don't sign over your ADSL line to them because it will take months before they sign it back to you.

I found their network very slow especially playing online games. I was playing Games like Star Wars, Everquest 2.

I moved over to Afrihost and never looked back.

Remember that this is my feedback, other people might have had good experiences with them.

I had a bad experience with them. I had a capped account with them at our previous house, and it worked amazingly well. When moving house, we went with their 1 mbps home uncapped when it was just released and it was really quite useless for just about anything, although I'm not totally sure it was the accounts fault or our line. But yes, support takes forever to get back. See if they will give you a test account maybe? Try calling them because last I tried emailing, they took forever to get back but the call went through pretty quickly.

They were quite good in the days that I had a 384k 3GB Capped account with them. As soon as they offered Uncapped, and I upgraded to 1MB, that's when everything went to hell. Moved over to MWEB, and had no issues at all, right up to the day I left a few months ago, just in the nick of time, in light of recent events. I'm now with Telkom Internet on a 2MB Uncapped account, and I'm quite happy with them. Has it's bad days, but then all ISP's do at some point. Afrihost, OpenWeb and TI are worth looking into. From that point, vote with your wallet.
