Another one, that is really sad.
Unfortunately there isnt anywhere safe to ride anymore.
You ride mtb offroad and you get get "hijacked" for your bike, you ride on the road and you get taken out by a car or a truck.

Same for cyclists, bikers and normal cars.

How many close calls do you have a week now days?

I don't understand why people are willing to risk their lives cycling, running or using a motor bike on our roads.
Yes, they all have a right to be on the road but just because it's legal doesn't mean it's safe.
I may be allowed to swim in shark infested waters but I don't for a reason.
Why do people risk it?

Why board a plane if it stands a chance to crash.

Why cross a street if you stand a chance of getting hit by a car?

I generally don't cross busy streets.
I did consider using a motor cycle to get to work but the risk is just too high.
On several occasions I've almost taken out a few drunk pedestrians at night and cyclists who swerve into the lane without warning and I wasn't speeding or driving with my brain disengaged.

Paul_S has a point though, I limit my cycling to safer areas these days.
There are just some areas that I wont cycle because its too dangerous.
There is no point in endangering yourself unnecessarily.
